WORST cab experience EVER!!! The Dispatchers need to take Phone Etiquette and Customer Service Courses in the worst way! The cabs are in severely rough shape!!! You ride with your knees up against their make shift cop like cage that seperates the driver and the back seat! I was quoted a 45 min wait, but it took over an hour and a half for the cab to arrive to pick me up, which reek of marijuana! Im convinced that's the reason why it took the driver forever to pick me up! BE WARNED!! THIS IS NOT A PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM!!!
On August 31 2018, I called at 12:38 in the afternoon I called for a cab for a ride home after purchasing 150 lbs. of groceries. The dispatcher told me that they company was running behind and there would be a 45 minute to an 1 hour and 15 minute wait for a cab to get there. First lie Having no other options on getting home, I told to still send one out when one became available. 3:15 comes around and I call back to see how much longer it would be. The dispatcher told me "Oh , it's going to be just a little bit longer. As soon as one clears we'll send one out to you."Second lie! 4:30 comes around, still no cab. Not only do I call them back, but the manager of the store I had shopped at plus an employee also called them to see what was going keep in mind the food I had bought had been in the sun for 4 hrs. at this point The cab FINALLY shows up at 5:15, more than 4 and a half hrs after I originally called. Now let me say, I am not blaming the drivers that drive for the company. The vast majority of them are extremely courteous and friendly. But for a town the size of Battle Creek, it should NEVER take that long for taxis to show up.You can drive to Detroit and back in that amount of time. That tells me either either the company ownership and management is completely inept or they just don't care. There are two cab companies in town and are owned by the same person and have an exclusive contract with the city to provide taxi service to the city. The cabs are old and discrepant. There is no leg room in the cab which makes it extremely hard for people who have physical difficulties to get in and out of. Even after a wait of 4 and 1/2 hrs, they had the unmitting gall to still charge me the stinking 5 dollar charge to get me home. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY...WALK, CALL A FRIEND OR RELATIVE FOR A RIDE, OR BETTER YET, GROW A SET OF WINGS AND FLY HOME. The only reason they treat their customers this way is because they know they are the only cab company in town and they can get away with it and the local government won't do anything about it.
I've used them before and never had a problem. On 2/4/17 @ 8:45 am I called for a cab and was told it would be about a half hour. An hour later I called back and was greeted with "hello." I said "is this city cab?" and she said, "uh, yes." I asked where my cab was. She said they got real busy ?!but it would be as soon as their cars returned. Another hour passed and I called again. She sounded surprised and said "she's not there yet?" I told her to cancel the ride and I would never do business with them again.
My original ride to a nearby 4:30 wedding fell through so I needed a cab so I could drink. Wedding was 30 minutes away, and I called them at 3:50. I needed them to assure me that they would arrive by 4. Dispatcher said "Our driver will be there in a few minutes." Waited 20 minutes, called, and was told "Our driver will be there in a few minutes." Driver didnt show up for another 15 minutes. By that point I had already given up on them and decided to drive instead. I would rather stay sober than give my money to their business. I was still late to the wedding. I wouldnt have been late if they were just honest with me. Horrible service.
Do not use the call service if you are in a rush. Ive met a few nice cab drivers, but i walk to work so a ride is good every once in a while. I call every time a schedule a ride an hour ahead of time and 1/3 of the time im still 25 min late to work. Each time i ask how long it will be, today i was told 15-35 min..i called at 2.15, it is not 3:10 and i am late. Thank you bc taxi service. I love having this talk with my boss.
I've used their town car service on numerous occasions between the Kalamazoo airport Battle Creek. Typically I call a day ahead and schedule the ride. In the 6+ times I've used them they were only late once. Thankfully that was the picking me up to take me home leg of the trip and not the time constrained ride to the airport leg. The cars they use to take you to the airport are way nicer then their normal cars, they use Lincoln Town cars for the airport trip. Anyways I'll continue to use them.
I asked that City cab pick me up at 430 pm at the Honda dealership on dickmond Ave. I called them nearly three hours ahead of time and I told them that I had my newborn son with me. So as I waited and waited for them to show up, it begins to rain. The people at the dealership offered to give me a ride as I had been for nearly 45 minutes for this no call no show cab. When I got home the city cab disbatch woman called me telling me, 45 minutes after they were suppose to pick me and my son up, that my ride was waiting for me. I told her that they were suppose to pick me up 45 minutes ago and never showed so I got a ride from the dealership. The lady, very sarcastically said, oh well thanks for calling and letting us know, and then hung up on me. When I tried to call back to complain to a supervisor she didn't answer the phone. No apology for making me and MY TWO WEEK OLD SON WAIT IN THE RAIN!!!! just hung up. Do not use them. They are horrible people!
I generally call a couple hours prior to the time I want to be picked up. Only problem I've ever had doing that is that I'm in a wheelchair. One driver refuses to pick it up. It weighs exactly 24 1/2 lbs. however the service I receive is good. Generally very good. The cars are not Limos. They are old cop cars. I'm just trying to run errands , not empress the ladies or the neighbors. For my purposes it gets the job done
Worst ride ever! Dispatch hung up the phone on my pregnant wife when she called to ask where is our cab, that was already 25 mins late. The cab was filthy! Smelled like cigarette smoke! The driver was all over the road! I had to tell him to WATCH WHAT HE'S DOING!!! I think he was probably drunk! I will NEVER use this cab service ever again! Battle Creek don't have Uber. But they have Lyft little more money but so worth it!
I live in battle creek do not own a car. I have to use them a lot. Mixed results. Sometimes quick and easy. Most the time actually. Between three and five is aBAD time to call. I would say nearly 100% of my bad experiences are during that time. Also, they have one woman dispatcher who speaks as if I've bothered her by calling. This cab company needs completion. Also, I have four children and they don't have a vehicle to hold myself, the driver, and the four of them. No van no bench seat cars. I would have to get two cabs. Wth
