We have used Wayne Boze for so many funerals, but won’t ever use them again. It isn’t the hometown funeral home anymore. They literally chased us off the graveside taking down everything and didn’t give us one second to process and have closure. As we stand there they started putting our loved one in the ground, it just wasn’t the right time. Usually they wait till the family is gone to do all of this! Making a sales pitch at the end of the service was not appropriate at all.
The funeral director chased down the deceased’s daughter at the visitation to get her to sign paperwork. Funeral director berated an employee at the funeral in front of pall bearers. A few other things happened that I won’t mention. Definitely wouldn’t recommend in your time of bereavement.
Wayne Boze handled the arrangements for my mom, dad, and in December of 2022, my sister. I didn't leave a review in 2017 after my dad's funeral because I was struggling, but since this major issue came up after burying my sister, I wanted to leave a review. My dad's embalming and presentation is 2017 was very distressing for me and my sister's because when we arrived at the visitation and saw him for the first time, I felt as though we were looking at a stranger. He looked NOTHING like himself. That was SO devastating to us, but what do you do?? Fast forward to December of 2022. My sister, who was only 5.5 years older than me I'm 50 unexpectedly passed away. We once again entrusted Wayne Boze with her post mortem care...and once again, we felt as though we were looking at a stranger. She looked nothing like herself. Not only that, we specifically said we wanted to get her fingerprints so that we could have special keepsake jewelry made. We did the planning with Gerald and talked for at least 30 minutes about how we wanted the fingerprints done. Come to find out, the fingerprints weren't in the memorial bag that you get after the service, so I emailed Gerald. I never heard back so I called the funeral home. I was told that Gerald had retired and they didnt have any fingerprints in the file and I was told they didn't see a signed authorization in the file to get her prints. We weren't presented with an authorization form when we told Gerald what we wanted, we just assumed we would get her fingerprints. We didn't!! That is not something we can ever obtain again and the ball was dropped 100%! I am absolutely heartbroken and although the apology was appreciated, it doesn't begin to make it ok.
Words can not express the deep gratitude we have for Gary Mills and Cindy Cantero and Wayne Boze funeral home. They went above and beyond or expectations of any funeral home. The care they gave to our Grandson made a profound impact. And we will forever be grateful to them.
Looking for a funeral home to meet our family needs had been on my mind for many months before my wife's passing, and my daughter and I are so thankful that we chose Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Prior to my wife's passing, I had driven past Wayne Boze several times per month while on errands. Approx. 8 months before my wife's passing, I stopped by for a short visit. Entering the location and meeting the staff immediately gave me confidence that this is a place we need to ask about funeral arrangements. I called my daughter and we met with the staff a few days later. What a relief to meet with such a professional staff and we signed up for an informal memorial service to be held in their chapel. After my wife passed, the owner of the memory care home where my wife had been lovingly cared for, advised me that the two Wayne Boze staff members that came to pick-up my wife's remains, were so courteous and respectful, professionally attired, did not rush what needed to be done, allowed the memory care staff to say their final goodbyes and really took an interest in learning about my wife as a person. A few hours prior to the memorial service, I called and made some changes to the service. The changes were handled exactly as requested. There is a lot more positive things I could elaborate on regarding Wayne Boze Funeral Home, but the main thing is that they totally handled the big and little details that we had worried over. After service follow-up is another aspect that impressed us. Finally, I'd like to thank Amy, Chris, Korey and all the other staff members for taking care of all the important final details for my family during this trying time. Well done!
Wayne Boze was very patient and compassionate when assisting us with services.
Caring and compassionate staff, especially Gerald Isaacks. Thorough explanation of services and options and no high pressure. Helped our family during a difficult time. I would highly recommend Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
From the family of Sarah Marguarite Sharp. We would like to thank the amazing staff at Wayne Boze funeral home for their support and kindness during this difficult time. A special thank you to Wayne, Gayle and Earl. Gayle for helping us plan her beautiful service and Earl for his compassion when coming for my Mom. We sincerely appreciate each and everyone who helped us through this sad time and for her beautiful service. You are all wonderful, caring and compassionate. Thank you.
I have known Mr. Boze and several of his associates for many years. I consider them friends. They have attended to my family's needs as well as my church family's needs several times over and it has always been a delight to work with them. They are always professional and compassionate. I highly recommend them for you or your family's needs. Pastor Todd Grimes
I've been to my share of funerals but never had to plan one. When my mom died on Christmas eve, it was overwhelming and awful and all the things you would expect. What I did not expect was how easy Wayne Boze Funeral Home, under the wonderful guidance of Brad Shotts, made this process. I write this review because I wanted to share for anyone who might be going through what we did. When Mom died, my sister and I were flooded with fears ... what if a funeral home we choose doesn't treat our mother well; what if there is a mistake; what if ...; what if ...; what if ... We were suddenly aware of the terrible stories you hear in the news and worried of being taken advantage of. Instead, we were given tremendous respect, kindness and because our situation is a bit complicated, very sound, professional and caring advice. Thank you, Wayne Boze Funeral Home, for being the kind of people one hopes to find when saying final goodbyes to a loved one.
