Located in southeastern North Carolina, Wayne County Public Schools is the 21st largest school district in the state with 33 schools and approximately 19,000 students grades K-13. The Wayne County Board of Education was organized in 1872. Over the past 144 years our school district has grown to approximately 3,000 employees, making us the second largest employer in Wayne County. Our schools offer a rigorous academic program, with a broad range of academic services and options tailored to today’s learner.
