Central is one of two middle schools in the White Bear Lake School District. One of our unique physical characteristics is that we are the site of the old junior high, and we are adjacent to the original high school in White Bear Lake from the 1930's. We are proud of the historical aspect of our building, which is located close to downtown--in a residential neighborhood. The school is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, authorized to offer the Middle Years Programme.
Our students have won numerous awards and competitive events over the years. The CMS Math Team took top honors placing 1st in all 5 Team Meets they participated in for the 2015-2016 school year. 22 Central students qualified to compete at the State History Day Competition. Central Middle School received 3 Gold Keys, 5 Silver Keys and 9 Honorable mentions in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. According to NWEA MAP tests, over the past five years, our students have consistently scored in the 85th percentile on reading growth measures and in the 70th percentile on math growth measures.
