In 1992, Sandy led the fall membership drive at the Richardson Chamber of Commerce. She had a very successful membership drive, and many of the Chamber's executives took notice of the dedication and hard work she put into the membership drive. At the time Nationwide was looking to open new agencies in the Dallas area, and they started by contacting the local chambers. Sandy was recommended by the chamber executives because of her recent success with her membership drive. She was then contacted to discuss opportunities and interests in starting her own agency. At the time, she had a friend that was in the insurance business, and he told her what a great career it had been for him. He encouraged her to pursue the opportunity. After discussions with Nationwide, she decided to open her own agency in January of 1993. Her business has been thriving ever since. In 2000, Sandy opened her second office in San Antonio, which is growing along with her Richardson office.
