Welcome to the Webster Montessori School Facebook page, we are glad you found us!
Our school was founded in 1967 and provides an AMI Montessori education and care for nearly 150 children ages 18 months to 12 years.
Webster Montessori School was founded in 1967 by six parents dedicated to good education for their children through Montessori. The school is a non-profit institution registered with the New York State Regents and recognized by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI).
It is one of only 180 Montessori schools in the US and six in New York State meeting AMI's school standards. Montessori children's environments have been developed for children starting at 18 months of age up to 12 years. There is an additional program of Wrap-Around Care offered year round including a Summer Program.
As a not-for-profit entity the Webster Montessori School is a Board run school comprised of parents and community members. The school does not discriminate in any of its practices around enrollment of children or employing teachers and staff members.
Following the developmental stages of the child through the AMI Montessori approach, a strong foundation is laid for the maturing of the child in areas of physical, emotional, academic and social progress. These steps lead the child to his fullest potential. This foundation produces a starting point for all future learning.
The teachers who are specially trained in the Montessori method bring expertise, joy and warmth to the classrooms.
To provide an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) accredited education for pre-school through elementary aged children (18 months to 12 years) based on a consistent environment, at the school and home. We will achieve this through an interactive partnership of children, families, staff, board members, and the community at large. Webster Montessori School’s educational framework creates and sustains an environment that offers opportunities to meet the social, emotional and intellectual needs of each student. Our method educates the whole child by providing child-directed, hands on learning, enabling each student to realize his or her full potential for learning and become an independent, self-motivated and contributing member of the world community.
