I'm so thankful for WellHaven Urgent Care on a Friday evening before a long holiday weekend! From the first phone call all the way through discharge, right before closing, everyone was kind, caring, and professional. Top-notch vet team, reasonable prices, and no horrendous wait at an ER facility! I would not hesitate to take my dog again and will recommend to others!
I can’t begin to express the level or gratitude I have for our experience with the WellHaven staff. We found out our cat of 11 years was suffering from cancer and would need to be laid to rest. While the entire ordeal was a challenge for our family, WellHaven’s staff was beautifully equipped to help meet our family’s care and emotional needs. Everyone was so kind and empathetic from the receptionist all the way to the doctor; almost as if they were experiencing the loss and grief with us. It’s really special to have people like that in your corner when navigating such a difficult time.
One star for being open on Sunday, one more star for the ability to take a appointment. Minus 3 for making my ailing pet and I wait in the car outside for over an hour just to tell us that it would be at least another hour before anyone *might* be able to look at my dog. All of this information was after checking in multiple times during the wait. No one informed me or communicated that the wait could be hours until I started asking questions. Please don't take appointments you can't keep. Probably a tough day for them, but 4 hours of travel and waiting made it a tough day for me and my pup too.
Great experience at WellHaven! They were able to see our dog on the 4th when most other places were closed. Staff was friendly and kept us in the loop on what was happening through some short waits. The costs were very reasonable, comparable to a regular vet visit.
Really disappointed in this place. There should be no reason to allow appointments to be made, it makes no sense to how you do business. Secondly, if you have the staff to sit at the front desk or chat amongst yourselves in the back an earshot away from the waiting rooms, you should have time to check on your patients waiting for an hour+. It takes all of a minute to say “hey we know you are here still, we haven’t forgotten we will be with you as soon as possible”. We made an appointment got there as soon as you opened with one other pet, saw a vet tech who told us the doctor would be in soon then sat for over an hour with no other update. When we went to check in to see how much longer until we were seen, a staff member who was clearly annoyed said there were other priority patience and there was no timeframe to provide. Be upfront with each patient. Understood that critical patience take priority but checking in and being kind goes a long way.
They helped my kitty out yesterday. I was worried that he had a blocked urethra. Luckily that was not the case. They took great care of him and explained everything to me in great detail. They staff was very helpful and kind and i was glad they were able to get me in very quickly.
Highly recommend these professional caring people. Our Shih Tzu had an extremely severe ear infection. They took their time in finding out the type, explained in detail how to care for her. They were fantastic.
They were great with our pup, Roku, and explained everything that was going on with his nasty ears and what the best treatment plan would be. Really good experience with our grandpupper!
While I was very grateful that there's an Urgent Care for pets, I think they could be more communicative since they are only doing curbside visits. I understand that people are bringing in potentially critical patients, and that less dire situations are going to be held off. My dog is an emotional support dog for me, and it didn't seem like they understood that, and how hard it was for me to not hear anything about his condition for hours on end. I was told to go and have coffee or lunch and the vet would contact me. It was almost 5 hours and they hadn't even drawn blood yet. All they kept telling me was that he was resting comfortably, and stable. I ended up getting some very disturbing news about his condition. During the whole process, what they told me was going to take place and what actually happened were inconsistent. Leaving pet owners in the dark for hours is genuinely unkind. It seems that the vet and vet techs either don't communicate with the front desk, or the front desk isn't asking for any details. I just think that proper communication and consistency would be paramount for pet owners who cannot be in the building to ask about the progress. Maybe it's normal for others to be able to drop off their pets and go about their day. I cannot, and in all my 60 years of having dogs, have never been so distraught and scared about how they were.
I can't say enough kind words about the vets and the facility here. They were very kind, which really helped put me at ease. They diagnosed a long running issue with my senior cat and got her back to me very quickly with the right meds and a treatment plan to get her healthy. Thank you Wellhaven, bless you all.
