Join the students of WBHS EARTH as they lead the effort to completely power the WBHS science department with solar electricity by installing 20 kilowatts or more of solar panels at the school.
West Bloomfield Initiative for Renewable Energy at West Bloomfield High School, or WIREWBHS is an innovative approach for educating students and the community about energy efficiency and renewable energy. Our first major project is the installation of 3.4 kilowatt solar tracking array in front of the high school. The array was funded by Energy Works Michigan, the MLB Energy Education Fund, The Earth Club of West Bloomfield High School, and private donors. Installation of all components should be complete by March, 2011.
