West Chester Cross Classic
Date: Sunday, October 21, 2012 - RAIN OR SHINE EVENT
Course Description:
Classic cyclocross course with two sets of barriers and variable terrain mostly grass, with some pavement. The 1.9 mile closed course is great for spectators. Course will be flowing and challenging, making use of natural run-ups, off cambers sections, and lots of cornering. Course is designed by “angry” Bob Reuther, local cross legend and long time advocate of local cycling.

Centrally located…30 minutes from Wilmington DE, Lancaster PA, King of Prussia. 45 minutes from Phila, S. Jersey. Just off Route 202 – 3 miles south of West Chester PA.
Special Notes: In order to promote local cross racing, we have limited all entry fees to $20or less (except Pro 1/2/3 field). In addition,this race serves as a fund raiser for Rustin HS Wrestling Team, and a $5 per car parking fee will be collected100% of which will go to the team (car pooling is encouraged! Fans and spectators are can park for free).
Prizes*:
Cat 4/5, Mens Masters 55+ merchandise prizes. Mens Cat 3/4 and Women 1/2/3/4 pay $100 5 deep. Masters 35+ and Masters 45+ pay $200 5 deep each field. Elite men pays $300 7 deep. To better support racers, we have added cash prizes forcat 3/4 and Masters 45+.
* Note that if field minimums of 20 for the Pro 1/2/3 and 15 for all other cash paying races aren't met, cash prizes will be cut by 50% orto 50% of total entry fees collected. .
Registration:
· Pre-registration will be open on bikereg.com until October 18, 2012 11:00PM.
· There is a $5 late fee for day-of registration.
· Day of Registration and sign-in will be open at 8AM and will close 30 min prior to each race.
· A USAC license is required to participate in this race, day-of and annual licenses will be available for purchase at registration.
· There is a $5 multi-race discount to register for additional classes.
· Registration price includes $3 USAC insurance fee.
Amenities:
· Registration will be at tent.
· There will be indoor permanent bathroom facilities with showers.
· Bike wash will be available.
· We will also have a concession stand set up. Bring some cash for some goodies and help out a good cause.
· Alcohol is NOT PERMITTED on School property. Violators will be asked to leave immediately, forfeiting any race fees. Please be responsible and discard of waste / recycle.
Call-up Protocol:
· Call-ups will only be awarded by promoter discretion. We will try to utilize 2012 series standings or 2011 final standings.
· Staging will begin 10 minutes prior to each race
Lapped Riders:
Lapped riders will finish on the same lap as the leaders. Riders in danger of being lapped must yield to oncoming racers and are not to interfere with their progress or trail behind them.
Technical Pit:
A double sided pit will be marked and available approximately halfway through the course. If riders enter the pit, they must make some sort of exchange or mechanical adjustment.
Results:
Results will be posted at the registration area. Results will be made final 15 minutes after being posted. Podium, awards, and photos will occur roughly a half hour after each race.
Note:
· The course will be open for inspection and warm-up at approximately 8:00am.
· Every racer must have an approved helmet.
· Mountain bikes will be allowed WITHOUT bar ends.
· No aero bars.
