Transitional Housing for Homeless Young Families; Permanent Supportive Housing for Seniors and LGBT Young Adults.
Our Residences:
West End Intergenerational Residence is a unique mixed-age housing facility catering to three generations. Today our creative, flexible services and dedicated staff have helped over 2,800 young families secure housing stability and provided a permanent, affordable home with supportive services to over 90 formerly homeless and low-income older adults.
In September 2011, West End opened the True Colors Residence, developed in partnership with Cyndi Lauper and her manager Lisa Barbaris. True Colors Residence is New York’s first permanent housing facility with supportive services for formerly homeless at at-risk lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth.
In 2012, West End began development on True Colors Bronx, a second supportive housing residence which opened in September of 2015 and will also serve formerly homeless LGBT youth in New York City.
West End's mission is to provide safe and supportive transitional and permanent housing together with comprehensive services that assist and empower homeless and formerly homeless youth, families and older adults to live full and productive lives.
