I was extremely nervous, this was my first time both being pregnant and getting an abortion. I do not want to be a mother and I am a high risk patient. The doctors were extremely professional and kind and attentive. They made sure I was comfortable and took care of me, the procedure was quick and relatively painless and they offered medicine to help my anxiety as well as I had a nurse to talk to. Even after the procedure I was given a soda and a moment to rest and it was overall fast, very professional, comfortable and an incredible experience. It was worth every penny and I 100% recommend anyone that needs help to go here.
Considering this is the only option in town it's not that bad. I already have 3 kids and I'm married. When my IUD failed we both agreed no more kids so off to the clinic I went. I was very nervous but the staff was nice. I understand why some people think they are cold and unwelcoming. It IS an abortion clinic, not an easy line of work. I paid 750 for the procedure and I was under 12 wks. The doctor didn't say too much to me but he did explain the injection which helped me get my mind off the pain and stress during the procedure. He explained what he will be doing and proceeded when I was ready. The MA next to me held my hand and gave it a squeeze when I began to try reassuring me it was ok. It was fast and no more painful then having the IUD placed. The doctor is very skilled and I am thankful he still has his practice open. As for the protestors outside I gave then a nice middle finger and some choice words as I was leaving. Thank you Dr and staff for helping me in my time of need!
Going over there I was skeptical cause of all the protesters. As soon as we got done driving by them. The front desk was actually very welcoming and explained everything and always asking if I had any concerns or questions. They explained everything about my procedures and they we in so much detail for what will happen or what might happen. I finally met the doctor and he was a Amazing man! He was very welcoming and always made jokes it def made the situation not so tense anymore. When I went the next day they offered crackers and drinks and during the procedure I had another one explain everything to me and let me hold her hand. She continued to reassure me I was going great. They are great people here and you can definitely tell they do support you in the decision you’ve made. Thank you for everything!
I was a little nervous because I’ve never done a surgical abortion before. I read a few reviews and it didn’t seem too bad. The actual experience is very simple and after having it done I don’t know what I was even worrying about. If you’re thinking/needing it done here don’t even think about it. The staff and doctor are super friendly. They explain everything that will happen beforehand. The actual procedure takes no time at all and if you opt for the medication I was thankful to have them then it’s even easier. I was in and out in no time and back home and feeling better. I’m thankful to Dr. Stutes and his staff for the services they provide. The cost is a little high especially if you’re a little further along but all in all I had a great experience. Would definitely recommend West End Women’s Medical Group.
My experience was very good, it felt like a normal doctors office, right away i filled out paperwork and waited. waiting was the longest part of this. They call you back and have you sign some papers and explain the medication they will be giving you and ask if you have any questions. The lady you pay your money to was very very nice and so was the lady that called me to talk about the procedure and sign the papers. I waited for about an hour when I was called back. They give you an ultrasound and then right away the doctor comes in. He was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. If you agree to have the mild anesthesia they inject it with a needle, just a little pain no big deal. and right away I felt loopy. I don't even remember the procedure which lasted probably 3 minutes. all I remember is going to the recovery room where they let you sit until you are ready to walk out of there approx 30 minutes. The only bad part of my experience was the protesters outside the clinic with the rude signs they have, but unless you let that bother you its really no big deal. I hope this is helpful to anybody because when I read the online reviews they were nowhere near my experience. Honestly it was no worse than a pap smear. I did feel extreme cramping right after but it was easy to sleep. after a few ibuprofen I feel just fine.
i went in and i was greeted immediately with smiles and no judgment. the wait took a while but i was early to fill out papers. the nurses were super nice and joked around with me and made sure all my questions were answered. after the doctor gave me my medication i was relaxed and he began the procedure. i did have slight pain as they said but i'm also a baby when it comes to pain and the whole time the nurses were reassuring me and gave me breathing excercises to help with pain. then i got dressed and went to the waiting room where they provided blankets and a reclining chair. it was an excellent experience for a not so excellent situation. i felt safe and cared for.
Great experience! Very nice staff and made you feel comfortable. This was my first abortion experience and I was happy with the whole experience. Very fast procedure.
I had a previous abortion at Planned Parenthood clinic, there was no comparison. This procedure took a few painless minutes. I couldn't believe it was over because there wasn't the long wait and sharp pain that I had previously experienced. The office is spotlessly clean and the staff are really on top of what is going on. The doctor is a little strange, but very efficient and relaxed. I think some of these reviews are posted by anti-women's rights zealots, because it is hard to find anything but good things to say here. There are some pro-choice signs out front, but remember, the people who work in these clinics have their lives threatened every day.
If you can get to Sacramento to go to a different clinic, I absolutely recommend that. The staff here was very cold and impersonal. I felt that I was being herded through like cattle and they were only interested in my non-refundable payment. The staff could not tell that I was in an abusive relationship and that my abusive partner was forcing me to have this procedure against my will. The staff was cruel to me and told me to "hurry up" when I was crying as I "was wasting their time." I had complications after my procedure and was refused any after care. I ended up in an emergency room in the middle of the night to get the care I needed to fix a mistake made by the doctor here.
It's been years since my abortion here & I finally have the courage to be open about it. My inital impression was that it was clean & sterile. The video on all the tv's in the waiting room played a loop of his experience & it was very nerve racking. The front desk lady that took my payment and gave me paperwork to fill out was nice. I get back to the exam/procedure room & the music playing was HORRENDOUS. I vividly remember the tune of Madonna's 'Like a Virgin playing but replaced with the words 'Like a Surgeon's in place of the original lyrics, no joke! The original song & the circumstances were insensitive, in addition to the idiocy of whatever the remake he had playing. First was an ultrasound to date the pregnancy. Then I was given a shot for meds. This did not help the pain but did make me very loopy. The doctor was insensitive as well as his nurses. There was zero reassurement or comfort provided by any of the staff. The procedure was quick, with mild discomfort & pain. I was rushed to the room with reclining chairs & was only in there for about 5 minutes before I was made to leave. I was a hysterical mess after the procedure. There was ZERO interaction with any counselor or counseling. No aftercare. And thank God, no complications & bleeding no heavier or longer than a period.
