Our Cause, What We Do, How We Do It, Our Impact
The West Hartford YMCA is a "Y Without Walls"--based on the needs of the community, we offer mostly children's programming, hosted in the spaces of our community collaborators. We do not have a gym or pool membership option like many of our sister branches. For a list of amenities at each Y, visit ghYMCA..org. For more information about our adult or teen programs in West Hartford, please call the office.
The Y is the nation’s leading nonprofit committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The West Hartford Y is a program branch of the YMCA of Greater Hartford, an association open to all and committed to helping people develop their God-given potential in spirit, mind and body.
OUR CAUSE
At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow
and thrive.
WHAT WE DO
The Y empowers people and communities to learn, grow and thrive by making support and opportunities readily available to all. With a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y nurtures the potential of every youth and teen, improves the nation’s health and well-being, and provides opportunities to give back and support neighbors.
HOW WE DO IT
There is no other nonprofit quite like the Y. That’s because in 10,000 neighborhoods across the nation, we have the presence and partnerships to not just promise, but to deliver, lasting personal and social
change.
OUR IMPACT
The Y is, and always will be, dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected and secure children, adults, families and communities. Every day our impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice, when a mentor inspires a child and when a community comes together for the common good.
