This was my 2nd trip to the ER in two years. Both times I received excellent care. The facility was very clean with attentive and knowledgeable staff. I was taken in immediately and had emergency surgery where I received a pacemaker and had a 3 day stay. The physicians and staff were absolutely amazing from the moment we arrived in the ER to the moment we left and made me feel comfortable and safe in a terrifying situation. This included aftercare, billing etc. I would highly recommend this hospital and thank them for saving my life and such excellent care.
My wife has been in pain since she got to this hospital 7:12 pm. Throwing up all day snd got here and throwing up for 5 hours. I begged them to give her something for pain and nausea. They finally after 2 hours gave her morphine. The service is horrible. The nurses are nasty and inconsiderate. I will never let my family member come to this hospital again. It’s now 11:56 pm and they are finally giving her something for pain. We just moved here from NY snd hate this place… I would drive 20 miles further to a hospital even if my leg was cut off.
I had a hip replacement surgery in this hospital. This facility from the first minute we walked through the door, until we walked out, with assistance, we were treated the best we had ever experienced. The pre op, the operating, the aids, all were kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. Thanks to Dr. Locker and his team I am doing great. We must commend the entire staff on 5th floor that took such great care of me. Becky, Jillian, Nichole, and Benjie were so pleasant and professional in the in room care, and Joel, and William the PT guys were truly first rate and occupational therapy was very informative, and pleasant.We would highly recommend this facility to anyone in need, and hope we did not miss a thank you to one of the staff because they were all excellent .
Stayed in the ICU for a week. It was a very positive experience. All of the staff was very responsive and one nurse in particular Leah showed a very professional work ethic. She had a very high knowledge of all the medication and procedures, with a very calm demeanor and if she told you she was going to check on something or get something for you. She followed through very promptly, she made the experience much easier and pleasant.
The staff was great. Check in to check out went well. Pre- and post-op teams were professional and attentive. Dr. Duke, Dr Wright and OR Nurse Robin took great care of me. The night nurse Jocelyn was courteous and prompt with care. Ivan the PT was great as well. Many people, whose names I heard once so I can’t remember them, were wonderful. I recommend West Marion Hospital for convenience and care.
I just want to bring recognition to Emergency Department LPN Joel. Frankly, this is long overdue because yesterday was the third time we had the pleasure of having him assist us during our ED visit. Nurse Joel is the consummate professional! He has a perpetual smile on his face, while he works with speed and accuracy and multitasking like he was the guy that wrote the book on it. LPN Joel is kind, compassionate, and most knowledgeable. In the midst of fear and pain, he is like an Angel from God Himself. It is such a pleasurable experience to be cared by someone that genuinely loves their profession, and he does indeed. God bless this man in fathomless measure always and forever. Thank you Joel
If I could give this place -10 I would! My husband wasn't feeling well and on the recommendation of his doctor I called 911 for him to be taken to the ER. He was taken to West Marion and it was a joke! If it was serious enough for his doctor to have me hang up and call 911, why did the ER doctor tell him he is having a MUSCLE SPASM! My husband is suffering from shortness of breath, weight gain, back pain, nausea, vomiting and a ton of other issues! I've never heard of a muscle spasm causing all of that! When they came in with a shot, my husband asked why they don't run an IV. They said they don't need it. They said he didn't have an infection. He asked how they knew without drawing blood? He asked why they did a CT scan without contrast? Without is faster! We witnessed the man at the front tell the woman asking to be with her husband, he didn't have time to take her back to be with him. So tell her where he is and let her go back! They are both scared and should not have to be apart! No one has compassion anymore! Is your staff that overwhelmed with work they only know how to be rude, cut corners, rush patients in and out like numbers on wristbands! Is it about saving a penny to cost a life? HCA WEST MARION WOULD RATHER KILL YOU THAN HEAL YOU! We will go somewhere else!
Andrea Rogers, I am Extremely disappointed with your response to the situation-on top of the weather situation, I felt led to share my thoughts! No customer service, compassion or care for the patients or the law for that matter! Is “The No Patient Left Alone Act” no longer in place? It says “ it’s about protecting human dignity and compassion,” said Senator Ileana Garcia. “It makes clear that in Florida, at a person’s greatest hour of need, there will be a loved one by their side” Today, you, Andrea, turned that loved one away without regard. This post is not about the hospital staff in general but a clear example of the wrong person in a position of power who clearly shouldn’t be there!
It truly, truly pains me to write this. I have been a patient of West Marion many many times and have ALWAYS been extremely happy and I have gone out of my way to compliment many people. This last visit was, lets say, less then superb. From Admission to discharge, there seemed to be a lack of communication, a lack of just about everything. I cant and wont fault any one person, but generally it was a less then ideal stay.
I had a left total knee replacement as an outpatient at West Marion Hospital on June 6th. The entire hospital experience was extremely well organized and professionally implemented from start to finish. The hospital was clean, the staff were all knowledgeable and worked very well as a team, and their care was excellent. Add in Dr. Duke as your surgeon and you have a recipe for success!! Thank you all very much!!
