I was run off the interstate by a truck driver who forced me to exit. Same guy pulls up to my window, cusses me out, grabs my phone and throws it across street in bushes and drives away. When I finally find phone I call 911 who tells me to come in to police station vs dispatching officer. I’m upset but manage to drive there. They don’t have a public lobby so speak with an officer who says he can’t/won’t take a report due to jurisdiction and that a county officer has to. He proceeds to return to his conversation with someone about their personal motorcycles. While I’m waiting, I walk my pup around the parking lot and find a big kitchen knife 4+ inches with serated blade next to the “officer of the month” parking space. I pick it up and loudly announce to the officer that I found a knife and proceed to calmly walk towards him with the pointed blade toward me and handle toward him to give it to him. He didn’t say anything but did take it. I also found two cut up ID cards and some random bones. Small bones, but still…. Why is a police parking lot THAT dirty??? Seems like evidence may not be making it to where it needs to go. The county officers finally arrive and I’m told that they don’t have a police report number or business cards, that I’ll have to follow up with a detective who is - coincidentally- not available over the weekend. I explained that I lived over a thousand miles away AND was. Currently battling COVID, but no sympathy. I understand being a police officer is challenging, but what happened to victim advocacy?
Profile pull over and harassing out of state vehicles do illegal searches rude and destroy personal property. The officers need to be investigated. Just another bad bunch giving all police a bad reputation. This is why things are the way they are. Expect absolutely no respect or an easy time next time if there ever is one fully plan on going out of my way to make a scene and turn the entire process into a 3 ring circus act on film. You all push people to that limit.
it works like this: the police write a ticket for what ever. you go to court and found guilty you pay a fine plus court cost and that money goes to the city to pay bill's and paychecks. the police and the judge and the prosecutor and the bondsman all work together to MAKE MONEY. personally, i would rather just pay money every year to them to keep it going because can you imagine a country WITHOUT the police. the police are not the bad guys but when we get wrong they are there to correct us and i am very greatful for our police and our city and i would give my life for both......stephen
Was arrested for trespassing at a hotel I paid to be at, was not asked a single question by the officer, when I asked if I had the right to be there he put cuffs on me. Avoid West Memphis and especially the hotels. Apparently they're all owned by the same family and will have you arrested if you complain about the roach infestation.
I had a civil accident on the Southland Greyhound parking lot in West Memphis,Ark. and one of the security guards got involved and called the Police for no apparent reason at all. Me and the individual that was involved exchange information because the situation was about repairing a vehicle that was scratched while parking and everything was okay. However, I was asked for my identification by the officer and was arrested for obstruction and resisting arrest all which was not true and on top of that the officer didn’t have a badge or anything on to state who he was nor did he have on a body camera. He was very rude and handled me in a very disrespectful way due to my health issues and I would like to address this to whoever is in charge of the officers and making sure they have proper uniforms with identification and body cameras which is the law. Also they shouldn’t be so quick to arrest individuals on private property for no reason that is really sad, what happen to serve and protect and treat others the way you want to be treated. I noticed while being in their jail/facility that they have a lot of women and young ladies in there for small crimes and given a lot of jail time or the option to make bail but, they can’t afford it and in some cases after socializing with some of them needs to be in mental health institutes not jail. The majority of them are humble individuals that need love, counseling, drug rehabilitation and some jobs so they can provide for themselves and their families. We serve a God of a second chance and none of us are perfect. I thank God for the opportunity to meet those individuals, it made me realize truly how blessed I am. I pray that Heavenly Father send an Angel or two to come in and genuinely help them to be happy, positive and reliable people so they can be apart of those people lives who truly love them on the outside. “The Bible states what is it for a man to gain the world but, lose his soul.”
An officer with the WMPD arrested my 16 year old son for walking on a sidewalk at 1 am; he had just gotten off work. He did not contact his parents. He charged him with criminal trespass for walking on a sidewalk. He is now being detained at a juvenile detention center and no one at the police department or the detention center can tell me why I can’t come get my child. He had never been in trouble before. I was told I can’t get a copy of the arrest warrant until Monday this is Friday. So basically the officer dropped my son off at a detention center and they can just keep him as long as they like as far as I know!
Officer T Grey was called to de escalate an assault, instead of helping the man who had visibly been assaulted by a woman he arrests him. The premises for the arrest is enough to sue the police department, which is my suggestion. Small town police officers will do as they want, this needs to be stopped!
Today as me and my husband were on the phone talking about finances because he just bought me a new car he tells me to hold on because a west Memphis police officer just got behind him. All I heard after that was him telling me they have guns drawn on him and to call the police department to make sure it was a real officer. The officer then decides to make him end the call when he was asking for help. He told him he was not charging him with anything but saying that there “Could be” charges implying that he was going to falsify charges! Also, theyre supposed to have they’re cameras running at ALL times especially during a traffic stop FOR NO REASON.
"We are proud to provide professional service in a manner that is fair, courteous, responsive, efficient, and effective." The interaction I had with Officer Arnold was not professional or courteous. He treated me like a hostile civilian that just committed a crime when I was just a passenger with no criminal record. I will be making a complaint on this incident. His tone and demeanor was not warranted.
On 9.25.2019! Arrived at the police precinct @ 6:45. I pushed the call button and got a young lady who said that someone would come and help me shortly. I waited to 7:10 and pushed the button again. This young lady obviously agitated, came back on the phone and basically yelling stating that someone would help me later. Waited around for another 30 mins, which now is 7:45. The last time I checked my license they said 1957 as a DOB and not 2011. I dont appreciate the tone of the individual who answered the call button and I am definitely not a 12 yr old. Whatever happened to promoting unity in the community which I am not even a part of. Changes need to be made, or training provided. There is definitely shortcomings In that area. The patrolmen of this city are great at their jobs, just the dispatching Corp sucks. You dont like people quit!
