Camped here once during the summer. We pitched our tent on a site by the river. Our site was completely flooded and I woke up about 10km downriver from my campsite. Overall not a bad experience but I would recommend bringing a life jacket because trying to get out of a tent while underwater is kinda scary.
Just a great place to camp, loved it as a kid and still love it till this day. So many geat memories and many more to be made!
I was biking from my home in Hamilton to Goderich by rail trail sections and when I finally made it to the Guelph 2 Goderich Trail connection in West Montrose, I needed a safe place to leave my jeep while I biked to Goderich and back. I saw the little campground and went in to see if I could leave it there for a fee. I don't think anyone had asked this of them before but I spoke with a lady, named Heather and she made it happen. Heather found a visible, safe, unobtrusive place to park it. Although quite busy with kids and other campers buying supplies in the store, Heather was very kind and helpful. I did not camp there but if I was looking for a place for a little get away I would not hesited to pitch a tent at this camp.
Its a great place to camp our kids loved it theirs alot to do for all ages the Grand river is right there i like to fish and there is lots of them take a canoe you'll have better luck than from shore and i always if the kids aren't happy then no one is enjoy
Clean and nice place. Staff are kind and helpful. We stayed 2 nights and on the second night, we have been told someone has been rubbed so please keep your belongings safe and locked. This can happen anywhere and anytime. Washroom was clean and shower was 25cent for 3 min. There is a small shop at the entrance which they have most necessary items. It is very close to Elora park so if you want a near spot to go and visit the place then here is the good option.
A friendly location with seasonal trailer camping plus a large open meadow used for mixed tent/trailer camping. That area could use more trees. Potential to be a great campsite along the Grand River minus the lack of shade in the open area. Bring a screen tent. Overall positive experience.
Beautiful campground with so many amenities! Good place to vacation.
Spent July long weekend there camping in the transient sites. We'll maintained park with great friendly people. Washrooms super clean and all the amenities available for your needs. Situated right on the Grand River
By far one of the best camping grounds that we have had the pleasure of staying at. Debbie and Heather are very friendly and professional. Well maintained grounds and 2 pools. We loved it so much we got married on the flats with the kissing bridge in our background. Dont hesitate to come for a visit. We did and stayed as seasonal campers.
Been camping here for years love love love not just my trailer but my neighbors and staff. Lots of activities for young and old. Pools are very clean shower and bathrooms are kept very clean. My grandkids love to come for weekend visits.
