The West Side Center For The Arts
The West Side Center For The Arts will help build the community through the arts, promoting creative expression and providing artistic and educational opportunities for people of all ages.
The Center will be a multi-use facility, showcasing works of various aspects of the arts, from local and international artists with an emphasis on multi-cultural art exposure. A gallery showcasing artwork from neighborhood artists, as well as international works, will be located within the facility, along with a grand theater with both live theater and film showcasings, a black box theater, and various teaching/dance spaces.
West Side Center For The Arts will collaborate with various arts groups within the community, as well as arts organizations from around MN, and artists from around the world to bring to the neighborhood, art that traditionally has not been available for viewing. We will work with neighborhood schools, libraries and the community to provide the children and adults of the neighborhood opportunities that have never been available.
Live Theater shows, Independent and Mainstream films, musical acts and performances from around the world, live poetry, creative writing, dance groups, paintings, sculptures, literature, book clubs, and more!
Don't you think it is time our neighborhood has these opportunities? With the help of everyone in the community, we can make this a reality. We realize this is a HUGE project, but the West Side deserves an arts center, just as much as other communities that have them. There is more art here to offer, from MANY CULTURES than anywhere in the state.
The economic impact of this center to the community is undeniable. Businesses, schools, and community members are backing this. All we ask for is the support of everyone in the community to make this a reality. It's time we take control and shape the future of this community. The historic past, and hard work of those who brought us here, is in the past. Lets look ahead and create a platform for generations to come.
