The people that work there are so kind. I wish there were more kids events there. Classes like the Legos and take and makes have been a blast
This place is as good as it gets I absolutely love going to the local library people are fun lots of information and great resources I give them a big thumbs up
Red haired lady was quite rude and condescending. I was sitting in a chair working in my laptop minding my business and she stopped my workflow to ask me to move my coat out of the way it was ontop of my small carry on bag but had fallen off when I was working and I was unaware of it. The issue wasn't at all in her asking me to please pick up my things; I'm not offended nor bothered by keeping a space tidy. It was her delivery/ condescending approach that was very off-putting. She just was very rude and not very compassionate of the idea that maybe, just maybe... I wasn't intentionally just trashing her precious library. Not the vibe.
Great library, awesome selection of books, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I would have given them five stars, but their computers operates on a different OS, and I couldn't use my flash drive to update some of my documents because they are on the windows OS
Super clean and quiet. The staff was absolutely amazing too! I went in to get my 3 boys their cards and it was a smooth process and both the staff were friendly and asked my boys what they were interested in and helped us find those things!
Love the West Springfield Public Library! My own children participated in the summer reading program and now my granddaughter enjoys it as well! The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. I like the quiet study rooms and have often reserved them to work with my students. The library is a great place to browse, research, and use the computers!
Such unfriendly staff. My 3 year old ran half way up the stairs and I had my infant in the stroller so I was trying to get her out so I could get him he's good on stairs so I wasn't worried I just didn't want him to disturb anyone well as I finished getting her out the librarian from upstairs yells over the balcony "you need to come up and get your child now" essentially embarrassing me and scaring my son. This isn't my first bad encounter with the staff, they just are not pleasant
The West Springfield library is one of the city's gems. It's amazing in every way. I was and still am overwhelmed by its awesomeness. The architecture is gorgeous. The vibe is comfortable. Most of the staff are courteous and helpful. Whenever I've had a question or issue, a staff member has not only been knowledgeable, but also friendly, thoughtful, and cool. It's great to see a team that genuinely loves their job. They add to the welcoming, warm, hip atmosphere of the library; especially the bibliophiles at the Adult Reference desk. The art on display throughout the library is fun to gaze upon, especially since so many types are represented. I love the Hydration Station on the 1st floor bring your water bottle. The library sponsors an array of workshops for kids and adults. I've been to a few free classes. One on art, the other on aromatherapy. Both were stellar; something one would typically spend a lot of money on through any Adult Education program. It's not about the money here. It's about giving back, enlightening the community, and coming together.
The librarian upstairs was focused on whatever she was doing on her computer rather than helping us find what we were looking for. Very condescending, the worst experience I've ever had in a Library and I work in the community. I felt so embarrassed with my client and will never use this place again. I've visited many libraries that make you feel welcomed and part of the community and this one was by far the worst. Great remodelations horrible at treating people.
Extremely rude and unwelcoming upstairs staff. I have never had a negative experience in any library from my local lib to the Library of Congress but this one. Libraries are usually welcoming parts of the community but the librarians upstairs especially the red-haired one are extremely rude and condescending. They make you feel so unwelcome. My friend and I were so shocked and disgusted by the behavior. Downstairs- completely different. The librarians at the desk were kind and courteous.
