Excellent care. Got in and out fast.Staff is very nice and carrying.
Can never get them to answer it’s been 3 years since I’ve been rated with 180% but only given 90% I’ve been paying out of pocket for my treatment even though it’s rated and has been approved by the va but for some reason they have not contacted me back and I’m still unable to receive any help at this point my wife and I are struggling I can’t keep a job due to all the problems I’m facing and the $2000 monthly check isn’t enough to support me and pay for treatment I’m spending all of it on treatment leaving the rest of the bills to my wife this is why we have such a high suicide and homeless rate
Cindy Gonzales and Tawna Moore are completely incompetent and unprofessional. Caregiver program is joke! Not truthful. Unreliable! Stonewalling and intentionally ignoring people who tell her she is terrible at her job!! Disgrace to all Veterans. Get their feelings hurt when you THE VETERAN can do HER job better! FYI- these clowns are also our patient advocates as well which means my P& T husband has NO SUPPORT!!because they’re mad at us like little kids! Let that sink in!!
Get cut off every time I try get in touch with someone to talk about a pending travel claim.
Excellent staff and doctors, however they could use more doctors! Dental clinic has the best dentists I've been to in a long time! Dr. B. Is fantastic! And the pharmacy staff and pharmacists are top notch! This is what the VA should be like everywhere! Leave it to small town to get it right!
I’ve dealt with several VA community care units and Big Spring is by far the best, very professional and prompt every. time I deal with them.
Unfortunately, I can only give this place 1 star but it does not deserve even that star. I have not been able to reach anyone via telephone. I have left messages for a Morgan Little who probably does not exist or is just sitting around on Facebook not answering or returning calls. The receptionist is as clueless as I am about the place and I had to drive there to see and speak to anyone. It seems like no one works on Mondays, Fridays, and weekends because phone calls go unanswered and staff is working a skeleton crew. I went to visit a family member and the Veterans were soiled, rooms were messy, and nurses were sitting around talking. How dare they treat our Veterans this way when these Veterans made the ultimate sacrifice. The lazy staff have their FREEDOM and a JOB taking care of these men and women and I question whether they are grateful or deserving. I'm appalled at the conditions, the staff or lack of, and the poor attitudes. There needs to be some positivity and some housecleaning.
Update: That dentist in his comments said I was a transient vet, so basically not worth helping, that's why I couldn't get a reply from anyone. Not sure where he got transient from traveling, either way not sure what it matters, a vet is a vet. Just glad my life isn't depending on them. Anyway at this point it's been 6 months and I still don't have dentures and still don't have an appointment to resolve it. The VA medical system at it's best! Oridinal review: I am a traveling veteran and had to have all my teeth pulled in Phoenix, Az. Was told to wait 6-8 weeks of healing to get dentures. Well now I'm in Texas. Made appointment and went to the dentist in Big Spring. Dentist basically told me the oral surgeon in Arizona did a hack job and recommended more surgery and genuinely seemed to care and said it would take another 6-12 months for dentures. Since I am 120 miles from Big Spring I asked for a referral to a non va facility, said he would put it in, but to make an appointment just in case it was denied. On my way out, the receptionist talking with her friend asked if she could call me to make that appointment. Guess her friend was more important. No call back. So I have called 4 times in the last couple months trying to make an appointment and find out what was going on with the referral, only get answering machine and never get a call back. So now I have been 6 months without teeth and still no appointment to have anything done. So once again, the VA at it's best. Why can't the government just give us insurance cards so we can see real doctors and dentists and fire all these hacks that could care less about us veterans and stop paying their exorbitant salaries for a job not even half done!
There a joke no hurry to do anything. Then they screw things up and act like it’s your fault. Where did the VA hire these people from. Plus they will send you somewhere to get something done then won’t pay the bill so your getting called by a collections department to pay them and when you tell them the VA sent you there they tell you they get a dent to pay letter. Wow the VA is a complete joke.
Employees come and go here, so don't get too attached to them. They're unprofessional at times. The nurses have no idea how to draw blood. Their systems are always down or there is always some sort of technical issue or employee that's not there though they're supposed to be there. The officers are strict and the domiciliary is full of self-centered veterans. There is never a sense of urgency here. Big Spring itself is like a third world, under developed country and this VA Medical Center is terrifying. They cannot find competent personnel because no competent person would want to live out here in this God forsaken wasteland for longer than it takes to look good on a resume. As long as you're nice to the staff, pretend like you have nothing better to do, and make small talk in order to make friends, you're not going to get anywhere at this VA. On a more positive note, the facilities are very clean and the janitors are the coolest people you'll ever meet there.
