Would you like to serve your community and don’t know how? West View Fire Police could use your help. You don’t need to have any firefighting experience. The membership, both men and women, is derived from all three Volunteer Fire Companies in West View. We are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The main function of a Fire Police Squad within the Fire Department is to provide protection and safety to department personnel and vehicles while at an emergency scene. We will train you to assist the fire companies by: controlling the flow of traffic to ensure that emergency vehicles have a quick, safe entrance and egress to the incident; assisting in keeping an emergency scene safe and secure; and assisting with traffic control around an emergency scene or accident.
In addition, we assist at accidents, floods, wires down, parades, funerals, crowd control, and any other details where our services are required. We also provide mutual aid for the townships and boroughs surrounding West View, under the direction and authority of the West View Police Department. Those townships and boroughs include the following: Ben-Avon Hts., Emsworth, Etna, Kilbuck, McCandless, Millvale, Reserve, Ross, and Shaler.
