Small winery. They have wine tastings and sell their bottled wine. Clean bathrooms. Nice views of the vineyard
For those seeking an authentic New England wine experience, Westport Rivers Winery stands as a beacon. Their elegant assortment of wines captures the essence of the region's terroir, offering a delightful journey for the palate. The winery provides a tranquil escape, inviting visitors to indulge in locally-produced wines while embracing the beauty of their surroundings.
Overall, our visit was "ok". It has been about 4 years since we've been here. The wines are different, and not my favorite. It doesn't mean they're bad, they just weren't something I'd drink. The tasting was a struggle. The conversation felt forced, and I felt as if the person who was doing the tasting wished they were somewhere else. The outdoor venue is absolutely beautiful, and the offering of food trucks was good.
The customer service provided by the bartenders under the tent was off putting. They made snarky comments and acted like they did not want to be there. I'm in the service industry myself and understand they probably deal with some pretentious people, but it's just a shame because the wine & views were good here. Also they might want to use bigger plastic cups seeing how they were filled to the brim and walking away back to your spot was difficult.
Wines are very good... but it’s really about the atmosphere and scenery. Just pure New England gorgeous. Did I mention the wines are very good. Because they are. Craft beer as well. Grab a glass, grab a couple of Adirondack chairs and sit under the overhanging branches of the amazing trees that overlook the vineyards and just enjoy.
Beautiful site, helpful staff, fun and interesting wines to taste! The pizzas, and fries, are excellent, too! Stay a while and enjoy this lovely vineyard.
It’s a great place to go for a glass of wine. Unfortunately, they don’t sell wine by the bottle to enjoy on their property and they serve the wine in little plastic cups. They always have a food truck on property now, so they ask that no outside food be brought in which is also a shame.
Packed a picnic lunch and went with my mom and my two sisters to celebrate Mother’s Day early. Was extremely disappointed! Not by the wine, but by the customer service! We were going to go to another vineyard, which we love, where you can get a tasting for half the price, but we wanted to try something new. So here we are paying $14 for five sips of wine! A little ridiculous. The lady pouring our wine was really rude. I tried to make conversation with her, but everything we asked she just gave rude short answers. I am in the service industry and even on my worst day my customers would never know that I was having a bad day. I see from reading other reviews that this is probably the same lady that other people have dealt with. There are lots of reviews of great customer service from this place, but some saying that there was an older lady with short blonde hair that is very rude. I believe that is who we had the pleasure of dealing with! After trying the wines we liked a few and decided to buy a bottle to have outside with our picnic lunch. She rudely told us that we cannot buy a bottle to bring outside. After she saw that we were disappointed, she proceeded to say that she could open a bottle and split it between four glasses for us to bring outside. So we said OK and then we picked a bottle. After we picked a bottle she told us no again. I was very confused and said you just told us that we could do this. She then said no, you can only pick from a bottle you haven’t already tried! How does this make any sense whatsoever! So we could buy a bottle that we didn’t already tried but we can’t buy a bottle of one of the glasses we’ve already tried in the tasting? Why would I want to buy a bottle of some thing I haven’t tried yet? I was done with her and her rudeness so we left without purchasing anything! They lost out on a lot of money. Because not only were we going to buy a bottle to sit outside with, but we were going to buy a few to take home as well. Will never return to this place again!
Beautiful day for a wine tasting! All 5 were decent in their own way! Met some really cool people!
This was my first winery I visited in New England, I highly recommend renting a fire pit with some friends and spend an afternoon wine tasting everything they offer. We signed up for the wine club that first day.
