Although it looks like a family friendly place it’s never available. What do I mean by this?! During summer they have many camps going on and all the facilities are used until camps end. This is throughout summer and by the time these facilities become available it’s not doable for our family to make it there during the school year. It would have been nice if the membership was affordable but it’s not, and I just feel like money is wasted.
I was very pleased with my experience at the Westport Weston Family YMCA. The staff was welcoming and gave a good tour of the facility. Pricing was transparent, it was easy to cancel when I moved and a good value for what you pay for. There are always cardio machines available. I never had to share a pool lane, although the pool does get quite busy. Locker room is clean. The free weight section gets a bit crowded but people are generally considerate. Overall this is a great place to workout and use the facilities. They basketball court looks great too.
The Westport YMCA is an incredible place to get active and stay fit. Not only does it offer group fitness classes, a full gym, and a variety of weight-training and cardiovascular equipment, but it also has one of the best swimming pools in the area. The large pool has 10 lanes for lap swimming and allows swimmers of all levels access to a safe and enjoyable environment to exercise in. The YMCA also provides various aquatic activities like swim lessons, water aerobics, and even competitive swim teams for those looking for more social or competitive opportunities. With friendly staff members who are always willing to help whenever needed, it's easy to see why so many people enjoy coming here. No matter your age or skill level, there is something for everyone at the Westport YMCA in Connecticut.
Very nice place. Plenty of things to do. My only complain is when you go to the outdoor pool and it rains or very crowded and you want to go to the indoor pool and are in you sweamwear they won't allow you to enter the building unless you are dressed again. The problem is you already changed for the outdoor pool and are somewhat wet. How are you going to change and then go to the inside pool and change again. The towel is going to get wet.
Pay attention to cleanliness. Cleanliness is all health care. How do the locker room floors look? Clean or otherwise ? How do the hallways look ? Clean or dirty ?
We went to the free play in the gymnastic room. It's held Monday to Friday from 9-11a.m. and it's $10 per kid you do not have to be a member. My kids absolutely had a blast, it's a good way to burn off that extra energy they have
The place itself is nice. But the fees are ridiculous, and anything they can charge you for, they will. The high monthly membership fees will ONLY get you in the door. The most infuriating thing they charge for is using the kids tumbling room. $10 per kid per day for members. It's just a room with equipment--it's not like they even run a class. Two hours of "dance" for 3 year olds, which at that age is mostly just keeping them occupied, is $60 on top of the membership. It just feels like a place that tries to take advantage of you at every turn. We cancelled.
It's a HUGE facility, able to accommodate well over 100 people. Some new machines I had never tried before. Sizable pool. Everything is clean, and checking in at this facility is just as easy as it has been for me at other YMCA locations. It also has the largest size YMCA parking lot I've ever seen...
Wonderful facility with a well equipped gym, aquatics area, and beautiful camp grounds.
Amazing pool. Good gym. Great staff.
