The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department was formed in December of 1981. It is a full service law enforcement agency that provides police service to Westtown, East Goshen and Thornbury (Chester County) Townships.
Formed in December of 1981, the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department is one of Pennsylvania's 34 regional police departments. The Department consists of 30 full-time and 10 part-time Police Officers.
The Department staffing is divided among the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigation Division and Traffic Safety Unit and Police Administration. The Police Department is also a member of the West Chester Regional Emergency Response Team (E.R.T.) which consists of officers from Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department, West Goshen Township Police Department, West Chester Borough Police Department, West Whiteland Township Police Department, Willistown Township Police Department and Uwchlan Township Police Department. These officers receive special training in weapons and tactics and can be deployed rapidly to emergency siutations or critical incidents.
