We were told that there were better tours to go on... That may be true, but I will say that this is our second time coming to this one and it has not disappointed. My husband and I went years ago and then recently returned with our family of all ages 2 - 80 and we ALL loved it! Both times we found the tour guide to be extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. They are natives to the area and their love for it was infectious. What they offered went far beyond sight seeing... It was a lesson in science, ecology, biology... And so much more. Also, it should be noted that we went on a day when it was over 100 degrees and the excursion was very comfortable. Lol
Professional and entertaining! It was so hot even the big gators wouldn't go out in this heat, but our silly tourist selves decided to brave it anyway! Thunderstorms cancelled our tour, however they opened another time slot and we made it that one. All tebookings and cancellations were handle quickly and efficiently. Our guide was knowledgeable and did his best to find some wildlife. We saw an osprey nest and lots of little gators who love marshmallows! Just when we thought we would all pass out from heat exhaustion, he brought us back. Perfect timing!
I dropped my daughter off at college for the Fall semester. I had a free day and decided to do their boat tour. It was fantastic! If you pay a little bit extra, they will have their driver pick you up and return you to your hotel. We saw 4 alligators and our guide was patient and knowledgeable. He answered all our questions and gave us insight into the Swamp and Alligators. I shall bring my husband next time.
I went on a swamp tour years ago in Orlando and recently I've been wanting to go on another. I finally got the chance on my most recent visit to New Orleans. I took the small group Air Boat ride and it's the best. There are only a few others on the boat so you get a personalized experience. We boating around and our guide made several stops pointing out native plants and wildlife. Once we got out further, he cranked it up and took us on a fast based journey through the swamp. So much fun. It was much too hot to see any alligators but we did each get to hold a tiny baby one. This is definitely a must do.
Truly fantastic experience!! We did a large fanboat tour and got to see plenty of amazing swamp areas and wildlife. Our tour guide was friendly and clearly well informed about alligators the ecology of the area. He snatched up a small gator for us to touch and hold if we wanted, and hit a few bumps and hard curves for some fun splashes along the way. Glorious way to spend the day! The absolute best part...I accidentally left my credit card behind, and they went out of their way to let me meet up with one of their shuttle drivers in the city so I didn't have to catch a ride back out there to pick it up. Stellar company!!
Mark is an excellent tour guide. He gave us history and a show. Also, the company sent a shuttle to pick us up from our hotel, and they dropped us off after the tour. The shuttle driver was very friendly, and she even gave some dinner recommendations for later in the evening. I highly recommend this company. My family had an amazing time, but even if you are traveling solo, you will have a great time on the swamp tour.
HAD A BLAST OF A GOOD TIME!!!!! Don't ever miss a chance if in New Orleans. This was my 2nd adventure to the swamps. However, so call friends initially DID NOT WANT TO GO. However, they wined up also having a blast. The guide moved the boat around so all could capture the alligators & the crazy swamp stories were fascinating.
This place was an awesome and interesting adventure for the whole family. They prep you with available snacks for purchase and bathrooms. The guide was very knowledgeable but you have to get use to his accent. Once you do, you’ll notice that his also funny and very entertaining. The only thing that could have made this adventure better is if we had been allowed to hold a baby alligator and take a picture. I know that sounds crazy but the smaller groups on the air boats had that bonus pleasure.
Unfortunately, I forgot my tour guides name, but I do remember his little helper Ms.Sophia! I loved this tour! It was quite the experience. Almost 2 hours long. We saw a lot of alligators. The tour guide was very thorough and knowledgeable! I had so much fun, and I'd definitely do it again! I purchased the tour online and easily checked in when I got there. The tour started on time! It was such an amazing experience!
Our tour and captain were great! The pick up and drop off were on time and the driver had lots to say about history and restaurant tips. The tour itself was wonderful - loads of gators and the captain tried to “play” with a big one! The scenery and commentary were better than I expected and the sausage sandwich and rum cake at the end were enjoyed. I really recommend this tour.
