Weymouth Funeral Home and Newport Crematory

About

Family Owned and Operated Funeral Home

Description

Founded by Thomas "TC" and Etta Weymouth in 1960, Weymouth Funeral Home is a full service, family owned funeral home. For three generations we have served our Hampton Roads neighbors with compassionate and professional attention to detail. Since 1996, their daughter, Veronica Weymouth, has been overseeing the family business; keeping her parents vision of serving the community alive. Her brother-in-law, Monte German, serves as the General Manager.

We understand that each service should be as unique as the life being celebrated, and we offer services that best reflect each person's life, interests, customs and religious beliefs. Our services are tailored and personal to each individual with options available for all budgets. We will assist you with all aspects of the funeral service including all necessary paperwork. Our on-site crematory was the first on the Peninsula. We are also available to preplan your funeral. We are on call 24 hours a day, with a Weymouth Funeral Home employee, not an answering service, taking your call.

I can not say enough about the wonderful service we received from Weymouth Funeral Home! They are truly amazing. Veronica and Monty were there for us every step of the way. They went above and beyond for our family. I am so happy that we have a family owned company like this in Newport News. Thank you so much for all you did for us in our time of need. Forever grateful, Lucille Wagner and Family.
Weymouth funeral home did a fabulous job with our mother’s memorial. The entire crew was kind, compassionate and so well organized. It made a very difficult time so much easier to have everything in one place. From Joanne's catering to the amazing arrangement from Jeff’s flowers to the guest book and thank you notes, they thought of everything. So highly recommend in your time of need. Thank you for your amazing service!
The people at Weymouth Funeral Home are the most amazing professional team I’ve ever dealt with. Our loved one’s funeral could never have happened without the Weymouth family. Steve had been our neighbor for 15 years and a part of our family from day one. His health began to decline greatly in the last 6 months. Unfortunately he didn’t have support from his family. So when he passed away my husband and I took it upon ourselves to do all we could do to give him the best funeral possible. We had no idea how much effort went into planning a funeral. So many people have to be contacted. The convalescent center, funeral home, house of worship and the cemetery all require communication and coordination between them. Weymouth explained our responsibilities while helping us to achieve the wish of a loving burial. Their kindness, generosity, and attention to every detail allowed us to be able to grieve, trusting that everything was taken care of. We can’t say how much they mean to us and how grateful we are for their help.
Professional, compassionate, tremendous attention to detail. My father arranged his funeral with Weymouth over 10 years ago. After reviewing the plan and arrangements with them, they carried it out seamlessly and perfectly. From the transportation, the flowers, the viewing and the military honors...they also stood by us and guided us in a most caring way to make this difficult experience a wonderful tribute and celebration.
Veronica Weymouth and her staff are the most compassionate, professional and caring people. They work with the family and insure that everything is handled with the utmost care and concern. Thank you Weymouth for helping us navigate a sad and difficult situation. We couldn't have made it through without them.
My family cannot say enough good things about Veronica and her staff! They are amazing, and cared for my family like we were their own. Thankyou
The staff at Weymouth Funeral Home went way above and beyond to help my family through the most difficult time of our lives when my brother passed away. Veronica and Monty were there from the beginning and took great care of us walking us through each step of this process. The care and compassion they showed to our family was just unbelievable. Terry took great care of my brother and treated him with dignity and respect. I cannot say enough about the quality of care we received from Weymouth. I would give 100 stars if I could.
Weymouth is our #1 choice for funeral services in the Newport News area. This is the second time we have used their services for a loved one in the last 15 years, and the caring, compassion, and customer service is still outstanding. They will handle, or assist, with all of the details depending on what a family prefers--which is particularly challenging during the Covid 19 pandemic. You can't pay people to care, and Weymouth treats the loss of a loved one like it was one of their own.
My wife and I just endured a loss of her mother who after fighting with illness succumbed to a well-fought battle at the age of 91. I’m sure most people could understand the devastation to include the confusion of the next steps task with preparing to say “GOODBYE.” We reviewed several funeral homes in the area and was referred to Weymouth Funeral Home where we met, Terry, Monty, and Beth. This dynamic trio handled our situation, mother and all the details with extreme care. The level of understanding and empathy surpassed our expectations with flawless precision. Even to the end, Veronica whom I believe is the owner and her associate Rona came out to ensure all our needs were met. The Weymouth Funeral Home did not treat us as customers ; they embraced us as FAMILY throughout the entire process. I can safely say we did not lose a member during our ordeal, but in turn gained more members of the family with Weymouth. Some of the things you will get; professionalism, care, empathy, compassion, advice, knowledge, and experience with every detail from start to finish. If you want a seamless experience during a devastating and trying time, I highly encourage using Weymouth Funeral Home. They will keep the light on for you literally and answer any questions you may have at any time. Their business hours are your hours in a time of need. From the Bottom of our hearts, thank you, Weymouth, for all you have done for US! Jeff & Yvonne.
There are no words powerful enough to express our complete satisfaction with Veronica Weymouth and the tireless efforts she demonstrated to ensure my wife of 66 years funeral was one my wife would have been so proud. God love her, this little sweetheart, she from the beginning to the end, became as a family member to comfort each of us,as if she were sharing our pain. To anyone viewing this I say to you,"If you suffer the loss of a loved one there is no place in the country that could provide a more loving and respectful service to you during this period of sadness. The whole staff were wonderful. Monty, Terry, and Beth on top of every detail and the home itself is a beautiful place. Thanks so much to all of you at Weymouth.---The family and friends of Evelyn C.
