Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. First time ever trying this place and it was excellent. We stopped here because of a Rick SPRINGFIELD concert. Awesomeness!
I'm from Texas, so there may be some bias in this review... Food: Love it! Simply my favorite place to grab a burger and fries. The spicy ketchup is always my favorite part of the meal. Drinks: Fountain drinks, unsweetened tea, sweet tea, coffee, milkshakes, etc. Service: Great... They bring the food right out to you along with napkins and condiments. Most locations are open 24 hours.
Clean inside, food was good, girl behind the counter was so ugly, not pleasant. I know she makes 8 bucks an hour but you can always get a better job where you're happier. Not my fault.Food: 5/5
Foods always great, well priced. Staff are friendly and inviting. I checked my food and didn’t see my honey butter I ordered try it, if you read this. I asked the young lady at the window for one. They brought me another. Come to find out it was under everything. I felt like I stole that second one so I thought a good review reflecting the service might even it out. They were one step ahead of me‍
I came in and ordered a double whataburger meal, large with no lettuce, onion and add ketchup and bacon. After I ordered but prior to paying I was informed that the restaurant was out of large paper product for the fries and asked if I wanted a medium. I stated that I did not want a medium, that I wanted a large. The cashiers went and brought the manager back and the manager stated, "I can give you a large drink but we are out of large paper product for the fries." "I cannot charge you for a large and give you a medium and a small fry due to inventory." I asked why it was okay to give me a large drink, which I was not interested in, but charge me for a medium fry and drink? She was unable to provide a response. So I had to purchase a medium meal and an additional small fry to get what I wanted. In my opinion, this manager is not living by the large window sign and apparent way of service for the Whataburger franchise. The sign in the window states, "Just like you like it." It also reads that the meaning of that is as follows: "Your food is made exactly the way you want it." "Your food is cooked right when you order it." "Your food is handed to you right on time." I do not feel that I experienced this during my visit. I believe the manager did nothing to attempt to compensate for the inconvenience of not ordering properly. In essence, I had to not only settle for something that I didn't want but I had to pay more out of pocket to get something that would have cost nothing to charge me a large and give me a medium paper cup with extra fries on the tray. I would have gotten what I wanted and paid for and the company's valuable "inventory" would have been safe. My guess is, if inventory was as important as she stated, there would have been enough large paper products to provide me a large fry!
Order took over 30 minutes to receive in the drive-thru. They got the entire order wrong the chocolate milkshake was vanilla, banana pudding was also vanilla, sweet teas were coke, sub mayo for mustard was extra mustard, no napkins, spoons or straws provide overall absolutely horrible experience. I love Whataburger from growing up spending my summers in Texas but this was so disappointing after not having it in 2 years
I don’t know what’s going on here, but recently my experiences here have been awful. Orders aren’t taken correctly and there’s no screen to confirm and the wait has been so much longer than acceptable. Today I got stuck in line for 45 minutes after trying to communicate with the person taking the order please train these folks to use your point of sale and then told that they “were out” of something to make a shake when I got to the window… after being handed a completely wrong drink. I ended up just asking for a refund from the manager who eventually came to the window to try to fix the issues with my order. Manager was quick with the refund and professional. I’m hopeful that things will get back on track. Whataburger is the only decent fast food burger nearby and I miss being able to consistently get a good burger whenever I go there.
The number one issue is that they let customers sit at the window awaiting large orders no matter how long it will take them or how long the line is behind them. The food is always good. The service is decent besides the mismanagement of the drive thru. “Can you please pull up and we’ll bring your order out asap”Food: 4/5
Slowest fast food ever. Went thru drive thru at 6:40 pm on Aug 2, 2023. I just ordered a double burger. Took literally 20 minutes for my order. No one else in drive thru. No cars in parking lot. 5 employees inside chatting and laughing. 20 minutes! Ridiculous!Food: 5/5
Don’t be fooled by the one star, that’s what I have to put to leave a review. I would give this place no stars. Service has really gone down hill. Orders are never correct, wait times for food is extremely long, and not one single employee in this place knows anything about customer service, especially not the manager. This place closed for a short time to remodel and it should of just stayed closed. Good riddance
