Whatcom County Health Department provides programs and services that help prevent illness and injury, promote healthy places to live and work, provide education to help people make good health decisions and ensure that our county is prepared in the event of a public health emergency. Our agency has responsibility for monitoring the overall health of our community and directing public resources towards the greatest benefit. To have the greatest impact, we believe that social justice and health equity are at the foundation of our efforts. We also believe that early interventions with young children and families are essential for improving population health and reducing the burden of disease.
