The location is right on Broadway in the heart of Saratoga, close to the shipping area and parks. The restaurant is nice and open, with many options for brunch, lunch, and dinner. Plates are beautifully presented and generous. Overall, we had a lovely experience, and we will certainly come back!Food: 5/5
Good spot for lunch. We liked the salads and the pizzas were ok too. The pizzas used a very flat dough and the cheese didn't have much flavor, but the toppings were good. The wraps came with a pasta salad that was very well liked. The fried calamari was good and included fried banana peppers which I liked a lot as the vinegar offsets the greasiness well. However, it came with marinara sauce which I did not care for.
I met my parents here for a mid-afternoon lunch and it was a great experience. The hostess and server were kind and accommodating, and took extra effort to check with the kitchen about any questions we had involving the food. I ordered salmon, which was beautifully cooked with a delicious crisp crust but was tender and almost melting underneath. It was served with beautifully cooked brussel sprouts and a roasted tomato and vegetable risotto which was creamy, savory, and delicious. My mother ordered lasagna, which was outstanding. It was stacked high with layers of noodles and a delicious sauce, but very savory and not wet and soupy like lasagna is in so many places. They have a nice selection of desserts, and a great outdoor area facing the sidewalk but not actually on it. I would definitely go back! Vegetarian options: There is a good selection of salads, appetizers, and other dishes for vegetarians and or vegans.
My friends and I were visiting Saratoga Springs for a Career Mode show. The night prior we stayed out late so when we woke up on Sunday we were ready for food and coffee! So unbelievably happy we found Wheatfields! Other places had over an hour wait and when we walked inside Wheatfields we were immediately seated with water and coffee John was our waiter and he was so unbelievably kind and accommodating making sure we had everything we needed Coffee refills were on hand and our food came out so fast and fresh. I got a breakfast burrito which had sausage and baconbest of both worlds The atmosphere was so comfortable and welcoming. I wish I could spend every Sunday this way. Thank you for making such a wonderful experience and delicious breakfast for our drive back! This definitely will be a go to spot when going to Saratoga!
Our Waitress Lexi was attentive, friendly, and so personable. The food was delicious!!!! Prepared just as I ordered and outstanding. Nice selections of hot tea. Great deal on specials. Must try the Zucchini flowers. The NY strip was great with the blue cheese crumbles melted on top!! Awesome would certainly recommend.
I recently had a deeply unsettling experience at this restaurant. My friend had traveled all the way to Saratoga Springs to meet me, and based on my past positive experiences here, I chose this establishment to dine at. We arrived and placed our order at 5:50 PM. While a small dish was served promptly at 6:00 PM, the remainder of our main courses weren't presented to us until 6:54 PM. The prolonged wait was awkward and uncomfortable, especially as we watched two nearby tables, who came in after us, receive their orders, dine, and nearly finish their meals before we even saw our main courses. Both of these tables were larger groups, and it's bewildering that their meals could be prepared in under 20 minutes while ours took over an hour. To add insult to injury, we also noticed that, unlike other tables, our table was not provided with a tableware setup. This glaring oversight further exacerbated our feelings of being discriminated against. During our uneasy wait, we couldn't shake off the feeling that our Asian appearance might have played a part in the disparate treatment we received. This experience has greatly tarnished my once favorable view of this restaurant. I had hoped to share a delightful evening with my friend but was left feeling embarrassed and dismayed. To future patrons, I urge caution and hope your experience is better than ours.
The food is delicious and portions are large. Their homemade sauce is incredible! We will be eating here more often. The staff were friendly and genuinely seemed to care. There is a nice atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. It gets busy around dinner time with all tables filled.
Unfortunately everybody in our party was disappointed with their food. These seasonal bowl was very bland, ingredients were fresh but it really had no taste. The pizzas were a similar situation as well, you could tell the ingredients were fresh but there was no taste to anything, other than the tomatoes which tasted like they had been soaked in vinegar. They wait time was not bad, and the server was excellent.
Ate at Wheatfields in a group of 11. The staff is very nice and most of the food was very good but the food came out so randomly that some people were done before others were served. Some people got half their meal which was finished before the other half arrive. My sister has a serious allergy which she explained when she ordered but the meal came out covered in the sauce she was allergic to. She was the last to be served and then had to wait ages for her meal. She was so embarrassed to hold everyone else up. I finally had to go ask someone about when she might be served. They were very nice and sorry for the error but it didn’t really fix the fact that 10 of us sat there watching my sister eat when we had been finished with our meals long ago. They don’t seem to be ready to serve larger parties
Wheatfields's Restaurant is the place to go in Saratoga Springs from Italian food and homemade pasta. The staff and servers at Wheatfields Restaurant are friendly and attentive. The veal marsala is excellent served with homemade linguini, and the eggplant rollatini is very good. The marinara sauce is a little spicey. Everything is ala carte. I would have given 5 stars if bread was included with dinner.
