The City of Wheaton Historic Commission was created in 1991 in order to promote awareness of the city’s history.
The City of Wheaton Historic Commission meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm in City Hall (Gamon Room). The public is invited to attend our meetings.
1. To promote awareness of the city’s history and appreciation for the city’s heritage among the citizens of the city.
2. To preserve and record the history of the city through whatever means are appropriate and feasible.
3. To provide liaison between the city and groups involved in historic preservation.
4. To recommend to the city council appropriate historic programs and projects.
