My daughter which is 9 months pregnant was possibly exposed to covid she had thrown up at work In order for her be able go back to work she needed a negative test! Long story short the security seen she was pregnant and automatically put her in a wheelchair! No big deal we thought it was procedure! We waited and was seen in the in waiting room the whole time! Then When the nurse who took the test came and moved her to secured area if the test was just taken why expose a nine month pregnant woman to possible symptoms! Just doesn’t seem logical! Then kept stating to my daughter your “your not chair bound! Which in fact my daughter stated several times she was not! Also the nurse had an attitude the whole time talking to my daughter.. This hospital is ridiculous i takes forever to get results! And you wait forever in the waiting room! I wouldn’t give any stars if it was possible!
The rating to this hospital is an absolute joke! 2.4 stars is such an insult to the men and women that work here. From the emergency staff to the 3rd floor cardio and down to the OR this place is absolutely fantastic. Not only were they kind, helpful and caring they were also information, detailed and thorough. Thank you to all the Nurses and Doctors that helped me with my A-fib issues, your dedication to the medical field is unmatched. I am forever grateful for you all, stay safe and god bless!
So far this experience at Wheeling hospital has been good. They have taken good care of my mother who was transported from wetzel county hospital with a pulmonary embolism. WETZEL COUNTY IS USUALLY AMAZING. Wheeling has had it's ups and downs in my experiences, however, so far so good this trip.
Kinda on the fence with this one. I have had both positive and negative experiences here on and may different levels. Some ER experiences have been so-so while others have been great. Long wait times some days and others not too bad. It just depends on the staff that's working at the time and how busy the place is. I've had kind nurses and doctors and ones that need sensitivity training. I give it a 3 because I can't give it a 5 and it's absolutely not a 1.
Can not handle or keep up with patients. Made my father sit in a wheelchair for hours with a hurt shoulder. Another lady was waiting for bed since 10:00 & it was 4:00. He probably needed a pain relief immediately but had to wait. Did not help or offer to get him an appointment with a specialist. 2 days later we are back but I took him to Reynolds’s. I give them 5 stars!!!!
I was previously employed by Wheeling Hospital as an RN, BSN. I quickly found out that they expect one to not only drop EVERYTHING in their lives after being hired on as an employee... But they also expect you to not have a family outside of work. I absolutely loved my job and truly looked forward to it. However, the work environment and management as well as the HR department were absolutely rude and terrible to me and my family. Peter from HR actually hung up on me multiple times when speaking to him and my manager actually gave my job to a new employee after I started to look for a job on another floor. Never again will I work for this company. Truly awful
Mask nazis who yell at visitors while ignoring staff. Had one woman yell across the room at a visitor to put the mask above the nose. Then later, she ignored a staff member who was wearing the mask below the chin. In walking through the hospital, about 1/3 of staff wearing mask below nose or not wearing one. Saw a few cloth masks on visitors. Meanwhile, proven beyond doubt surgical masks don't stop covid. And cloth masks are no protection but the hospital okays them. Why trust your health to people like that?
Had to go and get my labs checked. I was registered quickly and before I knew it I was having my blood drawn and on my way out the door. Very fast process and the person who took my blood was very professional and made me feel calm.
The ER is a joke. A patient should not have to wait 6 hrs to be seen. My mother was given an IV in the hallway. Then the wait to be discharged is ridiculous. All this hospital wants is your money
Since WVU took over you cannot preregister for your services, you wait hours to be seen, you are left in the er when you are admitted for days. They have an outpatient facility that does outpatient blood work but not outpatient x-rays, but they have the equipment. I hate having to go to this hospital for anything.
