On March 5, 2012, Shelby, my daughter, Jessica's rescue dachshund, flew off a cliff at Fort Funston, in San Francisco, California and landed on the beach over a 100 feet down. Shelby miraculously survived with a badly shattered leg; we often call her the miracle dachshund who lived.
Earlier that year my daughter and I learned to make flannel rag quilts and since had to watch over Shelby while she healed in her crate for the next 5 months, sewing was perfect to keep the dogs relaxed and we loved doing it. Next thing we know, we're making them as gifts and for friends on Facebook with custom orders. I knew people liked our quilts and their dogs liked them but I never thought about selling them.
I began donating them to auctions and there was an overwhelming response. I decided to open an Etsy store to take custom orders as well as sell quilts my daughter and I have designed and sewed together. We also found that our quilts make great human baby quilts and adults love them too!
Shelby has healed amazingly and she acts as though nothing happened. We just had our fourth year anniversary of her accident and we feel and incredible sense of relief and blessings for her to still be in our lives.
We continue to donate 10% of the proceeds of each quilt to the buyer's choice of charity. This way I can pay it forward and still cover my costs. Please help share the love that Shelby continues to give us and we'd love to custom anything. We don't discriminate on dog breeds or any animals.

Renee, (Kaila, our late beagle/lab mix), Kylie, our late beagle, and Shelby the miracle doxie who survived. They all rescued US! New for us we'd like to introduce Ava. Ava, beagle rescued us May 2016. Ava and Shelby are getting along great.
