Whidbey Island Disc Golf

About

For Disc Golfers, By Disc Golfers

Description

Whidbey Island Disc Golf Club was officially started in the spring of 2010. Since its inception, the club has evolved to an enormous player base with new people joining the sport that we love on a weekly basis. The club hosts a weekly doubles event every Sunday at noon, 52 weeks a year, rain, snow, or shine. Every Wednesday at 530 from the spring to the fall, a handicap league takes place. The league is a great way for new players to come out, establish their handicap and compete on a regular basis against the more seasoned club members. When everyone gets pushed towards even par, the playing field becomes level. This results in a lot of new faces taking home prizes while getting the chance to improve their game at the same time. We also run major tournaments as often as we can, with the 2010 Rising Island Open being our first, and admittedly it was a huge success at growing the regional opinion of our club AND course. The course at Fort Nugent Park in Oak Harbor Washington, has undergone many improvements(new holes, new pin locations, juniors tees), with many still on the way. You can find any and all information on club news, events, and updates on Facebook. Come be a part of the greatest sport that we all love! Hope to see you on the teebox soon!

Love this whole park. Wide open fields, soccer fields, football field, disc golf course, basketball court , volleyball nets and of course a great playground with a tot spot included! Grounds are well kept, multiple trash cans throughout and a dog water station as well! Would highly recommend.
Fort Nugent is a good venue for the childrens soccer games. Parking is plentiful and the facilities are kept clean. Concessions can be lacking but I always pack my own snack anyways. The field is kept up pretty good for the most part. If their is too much rain, some areas become soggy.
Super cool park, big wooden structure that both my kids love be playing at 7 and 9 there is also a little area for the smaller kids. During football season the concession stand is also open. Bring some water as not all the water fountains are turned on yet. Also there are bathrooms- well kept Restrooms: By the brick concession stand. Picnic area: Two covered areas with multiple tables underneath
We went to play soccer and basketball, so that's what my review is based on. The soccer field was great, some of the nets had a few holes but it's super windy and I am sure kids hang all over them. Overall this was a great park. The play area looked really cool but we didn't use it.
The bathrooms were locked due to vandalism. We were there for an afternoon outing. Not so fun without bathrooms. We had planned to stay the whole afternoon. We left early. Because of not being able to use the bathrooms, especially with school age children. Playground: Very entertaining playground Picnic area: Very clean
Stopped here with my son on our way home from camping at fort ebey. He had a blast, this truly is an exceptional playground with fun activities for a wide range of ages.
Wonderful play structure and great walking trails!
It's a great place for the entire family. It has soccer, football, basketball, volleyball, disc golf and a well built playground for the rug rats.
Love this playground and big field and little walks trails.
Went for frisbee golf; course is fun, heavily wooded and then a few open holes at the end. Playground is massive and several open/soccer fields.
