First experience at Whiskey Cake for my daughter’s birthday. We made reservations so we’re seated quickly at the back of the restaurant. Plenty of bar stools seating, comfy old couches and booth/chair style tables. The food was pretty good but being 100 honest out of the four of us who got a sandwich of sorts the main and only complaint was they were a bit dry. My husbands mean he stated was delicious and it looked as such. Drinks are probably the biggest draw here and they were well made. We plan on returning as even with its incredibly minor “negatives” it’s a great spot.
I like how this restaurant supports local farms and distilleries. Also how some of their dishes depend on what is freshly delivered on the truck that day. The chicken sandwich was a little dry but still had a good flavor. The rotisserie style chicken, with local vegetables, was moist and very flavorful. I also enjoyed their whiskey drinks. Right balance of liquor and mixes. Nice ambiance. Large windows allow plenty of sunlight on a clear sunny day. Friendly and professional waiter who was patient and knowledgeable.
Food is excellent but not very hot. Busy on a Sunday and the kitchen is SO slow. Took 50 min for appetizer to come out. Another hour for food to arrive. Food is awesome but would be better if it came hot from the kitchen considering the wait. Overall vibe is nice but loud. Wouldn't recommend for a date. Mimosas kept me happy and wasn't in a rush so enjoyed my time there.
Great vibes! Went with a group of 8 people who had never been before. Everyone was impressed with the place, the food and drinks! We had coupon for a free whiskey cake and man oh man, it was heavenly. I don’t normally eat grain or sugar and it was to totally worth it. I had the Texas Whiskey Flight, each one was delicious. The food I choose was the ribeye and it was cooked and seasoned perfect!
5 star experience. We arrived at 9pm, first time here, the location was prefect, the atmosphere was great, and Ana D was our waitress; she was phenomenal! I ordered the chicken and cheese melt, delicious. That whiskey cake too!! Do not leave without ordering. We will definitely be returning! Worth every dollar — which was very fair priced for the experience! Highly recommend
Came here because of the catchy name, but the food is well executed here. The restaurant’s namesake dessert is a must have. Our seasoned server was great at up selling the menu.; the server in training was cordially delightful, as well. We had the chopped chicken salad and the shrimp soba noodle salad. Both were generous and tasty. Drinks were soda and their craft juice drink Jessica Wabbit. If like ginger beer get the Jessica Wabbit. Definitely recommend and would come again especially for the Whiskey Kitchen Cake.
Went here for the first time after family highly recommended it. It was four adults, and we enjoyed the ambience and food overall. My only reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5, is because I had ordered, the hulk”, after tasting my husbands, which was delicious! But then the one I got tasted different, still refreshing, but just seemed like it was missing a little of the flavor his had. We chalked it up to being prepared by a different bartender, so just suggest a bit of consistency for the future. Other than that, the food was pretty amazing. We started off with deviled eggs appetizer. Two of us got the ribeye and the other two the chicken melt sandwich. I swapped the fries for Brussel sprouts and they were super good. The sauce on top did have a bit of a kick to it, that I didn’t expect, so FYI for those that don’t do spicy. Some of the dishes are a little on the pricey side, though this is to be expected given the farm to table practice.
I was very excited to try this place with my new coworkers. I must say I was not at all impressed with the food at this place. It lacks flavor. I had to add a lot of salt and pepper and that still didn't help. The only good thing I liked about this place was the whiskey cake. Now that is something worth going to the restaurant for if you have a sweet tooth and love dessert. I wouldn't go back here or recommend it to others.
Checked out this place on a Saturday and had a great meal. We enjoyed our food and the atmosphere was really nice. Warning: if your an adult and you order the chicken and fries it will come on a kids plate which was hilarious to see my Mom’s face as it was delivered to our table. Overall a great experience!
The food was good and they serve items you don't typically see at a restaurant such as pork rinds, deviled eggs, and corn dogs. The star of the show is the whiskey cake, which it should be given it is the name of the restaurant. Service was great and the atmosphere pleasant, though it can get a bit loud when there are large groups given the high ceilings.
