About the Owner:
White Dogwood has been a dream of mine for quite some time. I am a graduate from Clemson University, a former first grade teacher of seven years, and a current stay at home mom to a precious two year old daughter.
As a child I always wanted to be a wife, mommy, teacher and open my own shop. Thankfully, God blessed me with the privilege of becoming a teacher in 2008, a wife in 2011 and a mama in 2014. Since becoming a mama, many things in my life changed, especially my perspective and priorities. I treasured my years in the classroom, but my little girl led me to a full time job in the home pouring into our little family.
In 2016 after much prayer, I feel the time has come to open that "shop" I have always wanted. My shop looks a bit different than I envisioned as a child because Internet was not even an option at that time. My shop will be ran as an online business primarily. Items can be shipped to your homes in a timely manner or locals can arrange for pick up times.
You may be wondering: Why White Dogwood? After much pondering over what the business name should be, my husband and I came up with White Dogwood for several reasons. We wanted the business name to be catchy, "southern" and memorable but more importantly we wanted our customers to know that every good thing is from God our Father. We want this business to be a light to the Internet world and our community. According to Christian tradition, dogwood blossoms bear the scars of Jesus' crucifixion. The petals are tipped with blood-fringed nail indentations, the flower is cross shaped, and the center represents the crown of thorns. Thankfully by the blood of Jesus and belief in Him, we can be born again, forgiven and washed as white as snow... Hence the name White Dogwood.
I look forward to serving you and hope you enjoy shopping at White Dogwood!!
Sincerely,
Erica McDowell
