Landlady is wonderful. Customers are great. You can't use your phone and there's no music or TV but do you know what makes it so great? People actually have conversations and listen to each other, after all, there is nothing worse than talking to a mate who's got one eye on their phone, the other eye on the big screen and one ear listening in to other people and one ear on the DJ. Plus there's a real fire which is lovely. The beer is well kept, great value for money and the glasses are very clean. There's no lipstick on those pint pots lol which I have noticed in some pubs ha
Staff ok but asked for my beer to be topped up was told no ,it wasn't a measure glass so as we know a pint is to top of glass tried to point this out to be shouted down by the regulars telling me if I didn't like it drink elsewhere .all I want was a full pint tried to ex the rulers which fell on deaf ears
Sam Smith's pub. Always enjoy going back here. Glad to say it hasn't changed since the last visit in 2019. A very friendly place where the locals will not ignore, but involve you in their conversation. This is a real pub.
Great little pub in Hyde but unfortunately they put their prices up by over £1 a pint I used to go in regular but now after the price increase due to the coronavirus it's crossed off my list. If you don't mind paying premium prices there's lot of history and decor in there especially at the back room.
Very old style pub it's like going back in time: 'Goodnight Sweatheart' Gary Sparrow ha! The clientie are fine, dogs are welcome the landlady doesn't smile or laugh much, it's rather like it's too much effort for her but other than that she is fine and possibly a bit reluctantly pleasant. The ladies that sometimes work behind the bar are pleasant and friendly however there is one male who last time i encountered him had a classic red t shirt with the word 'Cabbage' across the front ha how appropriately this describes him. He will if asked always pretend to top up your pint, in other words he point blank refuses to do so it seems he thinks it's his money going in the glass. Nothing else to say except i have never felt the need to give a negative review about anywhere yet so: get rid of the vegetable
Excellent prices, of course being a Sammy Smith's. Classic pub feel. Welcoming local clientele and dart boards and a pool table too. Definitely drop by again
The Whitegate pub I remember going in there a long time ago brings back happy memories staff Pleasant friendly
Pathetic, bar staff couldn't wait to go home, no charisma, without the faithful few it would close go back out of luck
Great Staff, and Great Atmosphere, always warm and welcoming with good Banter.
Great pub, welcoming and friendly. A good pub to visit, a Sam Smith's pub, great value and good Beer
