Although our experience at White River Campground was only for one night, it is well-kept and everything we expected a campground to be for our overnight stay. There is a very nice office for check-in with a camp store. They have two restroom facilities, a shower facility, a laundry facility, a picnic shelter, a dump station, a fishing pier, a canoe launch, a volleyball area, a kids' playground, and a horseshoe pit. Fishing requires a license. Pet friendly. They offer everything from primitive tent sites through 50 amp full hookup RV sites. Our full hookup RV site was a level cement pad with side grass, a picnic table, and a fire ring. The interior roads are nice for biking or walking and there is also a pedestrian only historic bridge.
White River Campground is a great family campground with friendly staff an FCC d clean facilities! Located on the banks of the White River creek and within easy access to Grand Park! We’ve stayed here every summer for the ast 8 years and have always had a great experience! Staff are very friendly and work hard to ensure a safe and family oriented environment with special events for the kids.
Our first at this campground from out of State. ::Pros:: Clean bathrooms, heated showers, quiet, little to no mosquitos, little to no ants, metal picnic table, plenty of shaded areas, lawn game area, laundry didn't use, we showed up 50 minutes late with Hosts being polite enough to allow us entry when we could have been turned away, trail near by, boat launch area for very small water crafts, clean up crew are wonderful! as they keep the grounds very clean and located a cell phone of ours that was left behind. Thanks for that!!!! Did not experience any wayward raccoons or the like, HUGE plus, plenty of birds to watch and hear, campground not to far from stores/shops/gas stations ::Cons:: Water could be a couple of degrees warmer or have the ability for people to make it hotter or cooler, Showers run off of well water so tent campers be aware of that wish they had a filtration system to get rid of Sulfur smell in water, no available, or temporary store for small items like purchase of ice that we knew of the building was being renovated so it was closed, toilets are loose/wiggly in some of restrooms, the stand alone restroom at the back of tent camping area only had shower curtains for privacysomeone opened the curtain on my husband...hope the State can afford to put in doors in the future,River water is contaminated so you cannot wade, nor fish within the area of campground there is a posted sign to wash off river water after contact likely due to a factory/factories located on the river, a MUST install cheap one is reflective stickers for campground site numbers as it was difficult to figure out where our site was due to darkness, there are no directional signs to direct campers to site locations sure there is a map though easier with signs
Very nice campground very well kept, staff are like family you feel at home. New office and camp store, they have lots to do for the whole family.Service: 5/5
We love this campground. We've been coming here over the 4th for the last 3 years. 4 kids under 8 and there is plenty to do. Fishing, kayaking, bike riding, the playground and head into town for the parade! The bridge is so cool as well.Service: 5/5
This is one of the best county parks I have ever stayed in. Every site is paved. About a third of them are river sites. Brand new restroom and shower house. Campground is attached to several miles of bike trails. Plus a brand new office is being built. The only negative is the sites are 30 amps. No big deal for us, but could be for big units.
If I could give it zero stars for service I totally would. I have called a few different times this past week and talk to the same lady who is apparently brand new which is not her fault however they need to have other people answering the phones because it is impossible to get a straight answer. I was getting ready to book a week to stay and then I asked for someone else to answer questions at this new person couldn't answer and then I was told their booked through the weekend and that I couldn't check in until Monday so somehow between one person to the next person the computer said something completely different and had I shown up tomorrow to check in I would have been absolutely screwed and there have been no accommodation for me at all. We've came here a few times over the last few years and it wasn't ever all that bad but this is absolutely ridiculous. Get it together considering you're literally one of the only campsites around here.
Very nice campground. Our site was large, with fhu. The office / store was well organized and the staff was superb. Playground, fire rings and access to the river.Service: 5/5
Twice a year, 6th year in a row, staying here for travel baseball at Grand Park, love this RV park! The town near by, Ceciro, rocks! Great coffee house and restaurants. One negative, poor plumbing for the rear of park bathrooms as it is on a septic tank system, backs ups common. Odd shower and sink hot water smells in the front of park shower house over the years. Smells like rotten eggs. Time for a city water line? Please have the city or county test your well water for safety concerns. I have reported it to staff over the years but nothing seems to have changed as of the week end of July. Nearby activities: Small town with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, both low and high cost. The coffee house, "Darkside" is awesome for a.m. snacks and coffee! Safety: Gate closes at front of park at night. Entry with the use of provided code. Plenty of camp hosts always available during your stay. Laundry room, fire wood, ice, and small item purchase store available. Walkability: Trails along creek and camp park.
This campground is fantastic from the camp sites to the showers and also the staff. What can I say they treat you like family, the best Campgrounds ever !Rooms: 5/5
