The Wichita Mountain's Estates Volunteer Fire Department (WMEVFD) serves the approximately 2,500 residents (2010 census) of the unincorporated area of Lawton - to the north of Fort Sill, Oklahoma. WMEVFD is also contracted out by the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) to provide fire protection and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to Comanche Tribal lands.
WMEVFD is authorized 20 firefighter positions and operates five various apparatus, which include:
