The International Student Union (ISU) is one of the strongest student organizations at Wichita State University. The organization is devoted to bringing together international students in every aspect of student life and to fostering a better understanding and cooperation among all cultures. In addition, ISU is committed to developing an international awareness not only at Wichita State but also in the Wichita community.
There are currently 1200 international students enrolled at Wichita State representing 110 different countries. All are automatically members of the International Student Union. ISU welcomes American students to join ISU as well as to serve on its Executive Committee.
In the past, the ISU officers and their committees have successfully organized events such as InterFest (to celebrate International Education Week), Career Fair 101, and Summer Luncheon Meetings. We have actively co-sponsored events like International Cricket Tournament 2004 & 2005, International Film Festival (part of International Education Week, co-sponsored by SAC), International Staff & Faculty Reception, and a quarterly ISU Newsletter. ISU actively works not only with WSU departments like the International Education, Career Services, and Multicultural Affairs, but also with various other international organizations.
The International Student Union of Wichita State University is devoted to encouraging togetherness among international students and to the promotion of understanding and cooperation among all cultures.
