Sport Management Student Association (SMSA) is Registed Student Organization (RSO) at Wichita State University
SMSA hosts many events throughout the year to bring sport management students together.
In years past, SMSA members have had the opportunity to participate in several events ranging from guest speakers to the annual barbecue cookout at a WSU baseball game.
Past guest speakers brought to campus by SMSA include Nick Taylor, two-time Paralympic gold medalist in tennis and a special visit from Wichita State University President, Donald Beggs.
SMSA also hosts at least one event in conjunction with the Sport Management Alumni Association, allowing current and former students to meet and share interests.
SMSA also co-sponsors an annual career fair in partnership with the WSU Office of Cooperative Education.
SMSA members had, and will have, the opportunity to road trip to Oklahoma City to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the NBA franchise the Thunder, and meet true practitioners of the business of sports.
Join us for our first year in our community efforts in supporting Habitat for Humanity. Members will have the opportunity to get hands on experience and help others in the community. We have also been involved in other community projects such as “Shock Cancer Walk” in the past.
