This place is amazing for all ages. So much to do. The trails through the forest are well groomed. The trail with speakers that are playing instrumental music is a really cool idea. The wild walk where you are up in the tree tops gives you a very beautiful view, especially in the fall during peak. I will definitely go back and have already suggested this destination to many friends.
Definitely a cool place to visit with some great things to see both indoors and out. They had some real nice trails leading down to the water where you’d swear you were the only people for 100 miles. My only disappointment was all the empty bird feeders along the trails so we saw very little wildlife. There were many feeding stations but they were all empty. The high catwalk thing was cool and has some nice viewing points. We saw a couple of squirrels and a few ducks but no other birds or wildlife which was disappointing.
We had the best time at The Wild Center! We were a groups of 8, 4 adults and 4 kids ages 1-6 and there was something to keep them all engaged. We explored everything we possibly could and spent hours there! Staff were all extremely friendly and offered to answer any questions when they passed by. We were excited to see the otters and enjoyed the outdoor play areas. The spider web could use some repairs, otherwise everything was great!
My friends took me here for part of my bachelor weekend, and it was awesome. I had ZERO expectations, but it was a blast and I'm glad we went. We had a lot of fun on the walk and at the wildlife center. Easy walk, but beautiful. Stickworks was absolutely mind boggling...so interesting. We spent an hour just admiring it. If you enjoy nature, it's a great spot to visit.
Such a great little nature hike filled with little surprises along the way. It’s well maintained and the staff is super friendly. The museum is small inside but the exhibits are educational and geared for younger kids. It’s a great half day trip - the whole place can be seen in 2 hours so a great option to fill the morning or afternoon.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$21–30

Notice: we went on a night that the special Lighted Forest display was up. This may affect what is available when you go. This place is absolutely beautiful when lit up. The section with multi-colored lights was my favorite. The museum is very cool for younger folks, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, as well. One of the videos uploaded had one of the staff describing the lights.
Amazing spot, for adults or kids, to play in and with nature. The indoor area is a fantastic interactive museum all about the Adirondack wildlife and landscape. The outdoor wild walk is beautiful and very accessible, too! Sights, sounds, and experiences with nature in the wild walk. Fantastic!
Amazing natural history, environment and hands-on how things happened Museum that looks at origin of glaciers, waste-eating bugs, river ecology and Adirondacks life. Nice trails outside and expert-led canoe trips, worth the advance booking. We saw 2 very good films there. Loved our time on Wild Walk, an outdoor sculpture/climbing gym that overlooks the forest and local birdlife. Could go back for days and keep interacting with the sounds and videos. Great for all ages... Must do if you are within 500 miles.
The most impressive portion of The Wild Center is definitely Stickworks art installation, followed by the Wild Walk raised walking path through the property. The animal exhibits are currently being improved and most of the experience is catered toward children - which is wonderful to families, but left us feeling that the $22/person price tag was steep for adults without children to entertain.
