I actually really like this hike. I always go to the first peak. It's maybe 20 minutes either way. The views are awesome. It has a good incline and I can really feel it in my legs. Luckily I'm a really good massage therapist so I can fix myself whenever I start to feel the burn in my calves. If you are an avid hiker and happen to need a massage therapist check out my google page reviews at Healing Hero Hands. I believe I am the only 5 star rated massage therapist in burbank.
Great hike with multiple options for cutoffs if it's too steep. It starts off steep and stays steep the whole way. You can do out and back, or make it a loop like I did, going up the trail then down the road. Gorgeous overlooks of Burbank and LA, excellent place to watch the sunset if you time it right, and SO close to town. Some of the steps need reset, as erosion has made them unusable, but the trail is in good shape overall.
Every time I drank a little too much on a rambunctious night in LA, I would find punish myself by doing this hike! It's very challenging but the climb is worth it for some serious vistas of downtown LA, the Pacific ocean/Malibu, and the mountains that surround the city. Grab a Gatorade and don't stop til you reach the summit no matter how long it takes you. Your calves will hate you but your spirit won't!
The trail is real steep and strenuous, at least for me, and unforgiving. It's a straight shot to the top, but well worth it when you get there. The way down isn't much easier, I highly recommend bringing a walking stick or finding one! for the way down. I imagine there's multiple ways down the mountain but I came down the same way I went up. And it's a little treacherous and hard on the knees. But the views that you are treated to are breathtaking and there's even a nice little seat for you to rest at near the top! Not for the faint of heart but worth the effort!
Enjoy spending time here. They have picnic tables for enjoying a bite outdoors. Hiking trails are great, good cardio workout. The views ftom the top of the valley are amazing. They are open sunrise to sunset.
Beastmode, love it. If you make it up to the chair at the radio towers of Vital Link, rest then push yourself further to Verdugo Peak. After taking in the magical view, turn around, look to the radio tower a little further and you will see the flag up a mini mountain top. Make your way there and have a sit next to the flag. The last set of towers are right around the corner. Magical.
This is one of my favorite hiking trails! It is a bit tougher at the start and does get easier half way.. this trail has many trail options to choose from and all are a great cardio work out! Totally recommend
Awesome place for hiking and biking! And the views...
Incredible setting to enjoy at any time with family, friends or alone
My husband and I really enjoyed this place! The stairs are a workout and we had to stop several times to rest, but it was so worth it once we got to the top! The view is absolutely beautiful.
