These are just a few of the ADA violations we observed.... 1-Bathrooms have no handrails/handles for toilets nor bathtubs. My mom stayed in a cabin by herself but couldn't shower nor bathe because there were no handrails. The toilet had no assistance bars. My sister's husband is an amputee and their bathroom was just like my mom's. My family husband/children/grandchildren stayed in a large 8 bedroom/8.5 bathroom cabin and there was 1 toilet in that entire 7,500 sq ft cabin with disability accommodations and that was only a toilet. 2-Entire resort is full of roots disabling people who struggle to walk. There are absolutely no smooth walkways whatsoever for guests to transition from the road or their golf carts to the cabins. 3-There are no wheelchair accessible ramps anywhere on the grounds. 4-There are no listings on the website, which is the method most people use, for disabled people to identify whether or not this resort is a good fit based off of the cabin descriptions and there are over 30 cabins! Specifically in our cabin... --Dirty floors throughout --Faulty sofa cushions causing my grandson to hurt his head --Rebar sticking up out of the ground causing a hazardous area --Wood trim on interior post was detached leaving splintered wood and nails exposed for potential injuries --Moldy shower curtain --Moldy smell in bedroom --A/C in main part of cabin couldn't keep up with the heat --Website description of kitchen states "commercial" but only residential grade appliances are present Rooms: Mattresses hard; bathrooms violate ADA Safety: Unsafe; violates ADA Walkability: Unsafe; violates ADA Noteworthy details: Dirty
You can tell quality of a place by customer service. Customer service was outstanding. Our ac went out in our 1st cabin. We were placed in another cabin right away. We were also compensated for having to move. Everyone we encountered was exceptionally friendly. The waterpark was a great plus! There's plenty to do without the park. The ponds are well stocked. Our toddlers enjoyed the brim fishing. Pools were lovely. It was so hot we couldn't do water bikes, but that's on bucket list! Kayaks were readily available & fun. The kitchens in both cabins were stocked differently. If you have something you absolutely need to cook with, bring it. We've rented places before & this goes at most places though. Only complaint is floors are dirty in cabins. We had to mop floors for crawling child. We're hot & dry here so keeping floors clean isn't easy. We loved this place so much we're already planning next trip.
Nice grounds with potential to be great. Cabins are clean and cool. Beds leave a lot to be desired. We enjoy the views and the vibe of the property, but we really feel for the price, the managers could be more concerned with the cleanliness of the pool!! The pool was absolutely disgusting. The fact that it’s old is NOT the issue; no excuse for a disgusting pool. It should have daily attention at the very least. We came on a Friday and left on a Sunday. High volume of swimmers, especially children, and the pool received zero attention from staff.
We had a family reunion there. It is an amazing place with so much for the kids to do. We had an amazing time. It was wonderful to sit outside with mosquitoes and just enjoy the beautiful natureRooms: 5/5
We love Wildwood! Have been going for close to 20 years! It is ALWAYS a great time! The cabins and amenities are great and the staff is very kind and helpful. The fishing was great! You cannot go wrong booking a stay...I promise it won't be your last one!Rooms: 5/5
Went on guys trip and we had several cabins rented plus a few of the RV sites. Cabins were clean and comfortable. Made the perfect base camp area for our fishing trip on Toledo bend. Definitely look forward to booking again for next year.Rooms: 5/5
Yes! We love Wildwood Resort! We stayed in cabin 25 this time. It was awesome, bed was soooo comfy, I wanted to buy the mattress and bring it home with me. Rooms: 5/5
This was our second time coming to Wildwood Resort to go fishing in Toledo Bend. The resort is very accommodating and the service personal are super nice. We will book our family fishing trip here each year!Rooms: 5/5
My husband and I had never stayed here before due to the cost but decided to "splurge" on 2 nights in a cabin for our anniversary! Our cabin 4 is strangely laid out, with the TV on top of the fridge and the microwave on a TV shelf that stuck out at head height. But it was cozy and very clean! The two pools near our cabin were well maintained and clear. The fairly long fishing pier provides a beautiful view of the lake...the peddle pontoon boats are fun but be careful walking down the steep ramp to get to them... and the freshly cooked food at their deli is delicious! Also, the ladies in the office/gift shop are very nice and helpful.
Service, amenities, cabins! This has been a great experience. We rented a cabin for 13 and had plenty of room and lots of activities. It is safe and felt good with the kids playing outside. Highly recommend! The grill had great food and great service! We will be making this a family tradition every year!Rooms: 5/5
