This is a nice little library tucked away off of Convict Hill Road. It is small so the selection is a bit limited, but with an Austin library card you can order online for pickup or turn things in here, it's all part of the same Austin library network. Onsite there's a selection of dvds, CDs, and audiobooks to choose from, you can use the computers for internet access or sit inside the quiet room to focus. I was glad to see plenty of international and foreign language movies available. There's also a foreign language children's book section with primarily Chinese language books, but also some in French, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Gujarati, and Marathi. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they fully explained the benefits of the library card they issued to me, most impressive of which was access to the virtual library that can be accessed from your home computer. Parking is pretty adequate but there aren't too many shaded spots, unfortunate during this summer weather. I highly recommend stopping in, and if you're a local at least getting a library card if you don't already have one.
Good selection, great kid area, and the activities for kids kept my five-year-old entertained for over an hour! Especially the bat scavenger hunt. Everyone is super friendly, and helpful, too!
I love our local library! It's such a pleasant place, and the volunteers are so helpful! They helped me get library cards for my 5 and 7 year old granddaughters!
I never thought I'd be writing a review for a library but alas here I am. The customer service at this location is wonderful. The staff is friendly, they greet you when you walk through the door. I used their meeting room for work and entire process smooth. Friendly and attentive staff always stand out to me. And I wanted to give praise where praise is due.
The building is really, really small with a very limited selection and it is extremely loud inside. The staff were very nice and I really appreciated them - but I think this place is intended to cater to small children as there are no real quiet spaces available and it was pretty chaotic. Not a good place to read or study.
This is a marvelous neighborhood Library. They recently renovated the whole place and we stopped by this weekend to see it after it being closed for quite some time. It's so nice, open, bright and airy. A huge change from before. We rode our bikes over there and decided to get a Library Card for our grandson. An exceptionally nice and helpful woman, Marie was so patient and pleasant, the experience was quite enjoyable. I prefer the convenience of electronic books on a Kindle app and so I don't actually go to the Library very much anymore. I take my books out through the Library's Overdrive app for e-books. We did take out some books for my grandson, a DVD and an Audiobook. Because it's such a nice facility, we'll definitely be going more frequently.
Absolutely love this library!! We love how we don’t get fined for late kids books. With the how busy life can get, it’s really nice. Thank you. Everyone is so kind and helpful
Very nice location, has enough parking and a park nearby, the staff is friendly and provided me with the assistance I needed
I absolutely loved going here as a kid. There's a few trails in the back to give easy access and a lovely cooldown after riding bikes. The books seemed endless, with a wide selection for both children and adults. Of course, there's bigger libraries in downtown Austin, but this one is a lot more cozy and quiet. Better for my needs, anyways. Recently it's been shut down, but I can't wait to come back after the renovations are finished! i hope it has the same charm and comfort that the old one had, so we'll see!
Newly renovated. They added quiet room
