NOT having a restroom for a customer about to make a high-end purchase, is simply bad business and unconscionable. My wife and I will never make another purchase there as a result. In addition, the prices are outrageously high.
I have been a very loyal patron to Williams and Sonoma because I believe their products are of high quality. Today I walked into the Montclair store to purchase water glasses, the sticker said they were $10 per glass. When I got to the counter they charged me $16 per glass and said "the price went up." Ultimately, she lowered the price to $13 per glass to meet me half way. I walked out of that store knowing I was just taken advantage of... shame on them for this type/quality of service. Would have never expected that from Williams and Sonoma. The drive to Short Hills where honest hopefully is more abundant would have been worth it.
After a DISASTROUS experience with William Sonoma customer service I brought my wrong item into the store and Lauren at this store could not have been better. She fixed the problem with my order, dealt with customer service, got me my correct item, all in a prompt manner and was so sweet.
DON'T SHARPEN YOUR KNIVES HERE!! A caution after my bad experience. I bought my chef's knife a couple of years and notice is starting to get dull. I thought, why not, get it sharpened. I got the knife back the next day TOTALLY SERRATED, JAGGED, and with the TIP CHIPPED. It looks like they threw the knife at a wall rather than sharpen it. The employee refused to give me the name of the person who sharpened it when I asked three or four times. No help, no refund offered, and then tried to say it came in that way!! LOL. As if it wouldn't be obvious. I feel ripped off. It was smooth before, now my knife looks like a saw. I will just sharpen my knives myself in the future. Thank you for the learned lesson!!
Employees are too aggressively helpful. I asked where in the store is an item. I don't need you up in my grill yap selling me for the entirety of my time there. I quite frankly know more than you and wish you'd take a hint. I don't know what the frantic urgency is all about but it's a real turn off and has driven me from that establishment more than once. For me it's an avoid unless absolutely necessary for this reason. Items of course are primo and priced as such. Great if you're looking for a vanity purchase. Not so much if you're just looking to get the job done.
Love this store. We bought 2 knives there a few weeks ago and the woman who helped us was so knowledgeable and helpful. She literally knew everything about ever single knife and helped us pick the best one for us in our price point.
Was told the price of an item by a representative was $6/per unit, at checkout the items registered at $7.99/ per unit un-noticed until we were able to check the emailed receipt . We received an email receipt and did not notice the discrepancy until we had returned home. On the William Sonoma website the price was $6/per unit, after speaking with a support representative, we were told the stores can charge higher prices and they would not reimburse the difference or price match, even though on their website the price was the correct price per unit $6. The solution that was given to us was to return the products to the B&M store and to re-purchase the products online. THAT IS NOT GOOD BUSINESS. The in-store representatives like to talk a lot but would be great if they did their actual job. If i'm told price A it should be price A not price B. After this shopping experience I'll never shop at this location again, clearly they like to play games with customers and I will NEVER shop at William Sonoma online or in-store again. Thank you for leaving a bad taste in my mouth, enjoy 1 less customer, not that you care.
Called to see if they had a specific item in stock at store which they did not but the woman who took phone call was so kind as to help me place the order. Just was a pleasant experience.
I will NEVER use or recommend WS again! I usually go to the Short Hills location but it was not open. I got marred earlier this month and used their registry. I wanted to exchanged 4 received items for 1 not purchased on our registry. This was an agonizing experience that took over an hour. The woman who helped me was nice but that's about it. Her manager, Dawn, had to assist her roughly 6 or 7 times. During this long process things were done in such an order that my coupon could not be used. I was told they may have to revalidate all 4 of my gift cards in-order to use it. At this point I was sick of standing around waiting. So I cut my losses on using the coupon and left the store for my car. Only to find a parking ticket for $30! The hour and fifteen minuets I had put in the meter for a "Quick Exchange" was not enough! I not only lost money and time going here. I can Never use this business I once liked!
Worth coming here for best quality kitchen wares and other utility needed for your cooking! The store is clean, open, organized and the employees are very helpful to help you with the products needed! The prices here is a bit high but worth the investments when you have a passion for cooking, will come again! My all time favorite cooking store!
