Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center exhibits a wide variety of contemporary paintings, sculpture, and crafts at it's new location in the Blue Building on the corner of Westover Avenue and Lafayette Street. WCAC sponsors a free lecture series in partnership with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the Williamsburg Regional Library, as well as outreach programs to the community including Buddy Art for children with special needs and disabilities, a college art scholarship program for graduating seniors, and an Annual High School Student Show featuring artwork by students in Williamsburg area schools. WCAC will resume offering art classes for youth and adults in Spring 2017. Visit www.visitWCAC.org for more information.
Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center (WCAC) is the only non-profit visual arts center in the greater Williamsburg area. Since its 1959 inception, WCAC’s mission has been “to enrich our community through contemporary art.”
It does so by fostering and supporting the emerging and established arts, artists and artisans of today. It provides exhibit opportunities, field trips, lectures, art classes, workshops, publications, special events, and outreach activities. It also furthers its mission by working in concert with the city and local governments, schools, other organizations and businesses.
