Willis McKenzie LLP traces its history to Horace E. Richter and A.W. Birdsong, who initially founded the firm as Richter and Birdsong in 1949, providing exceptional legal services to residents of LaGrange as well as those throughout the state of Georgia. In 1975, Jerry Willis became a member of the firm. Two years later, A.W. Birdsong departed to accept his appointment as Judge on the Georgia Court of Appeals. Dewey Ray McKenzie joined the firm in 1979 and worked alongside Horace E. Richter until his passing in 1985. The firm welcomed new members, such as Mark L. DeGennaro, Matthew C. Alford and Nathan D. Cronic, and eventually became Willis McKenzie LLP.
