SORRY, LONG REVIEW AHEAD My husband and I love Willow Flat, and we look forward to coming up for our yearly camping trips. However, very rude camp host there are a few but we only had an encounter with one. The first thing that happened was at 6:45 in the morning, he decided to blow an air horn to scare the cows away that were near the campground. You know, the cows that were peacefully and quietly grazing and have as much right to be there as we do. We had a lot of unhappy campers that morning Mind you, this is someone who is supposed to reinforce noise ordinances. The second incident was when a bunch of people in our group went to go on our four wheeler ride. We had just gotten outside the campground and were waiting for the rest of our group when said camp host pulls up on his golf cart and told one of our people that he was driving too fast. Which I understand, it can be dangerous to speed through there as there are a lot of people, especially kids, who can appear from any corner. But the way he approached our group member was extremely hostile and aggressive and just otherwise very unnecessary. Like I said, I understand but you there was no reason for him to be as rude as he was. But then, he rode back to camp and complained about him to our group! Like they could do anything about it. It’s like he just needed something to be mad about. Enough for the negative though. It’s a nice, well maintained campground with flushing toilets and working sinks. And the views are just gorgeous. Listening to the river all night is so relaxing. Lots of fun trails to ride or hike on. In my personal opinion, this campground is worth coming to, despite the mean camp host. Just be aware that that might be something that you have to deal with.
Get there early in the week its packed by friday. Camp hosts are great keep the unruly in check. Hear the creek all night, its soothing.
We LOVE Willow Flat! This was our second time, and we will be coming back at least yearly. Bathrooms are clean and smell clean! Campsites are roomy and gorgeous. Camp management is friendly. We hiked the trail to the springs, this is a must! Make sure you go past the sign for the trail to the lake about 40 yards and go all the way to the springs.
It was an amazing campsite. The bathrooms were super clean and smelled great! Would recommend a stay. Beautiful sites and a field of flowers. The river that creek that runs by the camp site is peaceful.
Really nice campground, good sites that are relatively private. Bathrooms are well kept and don't smell bad. There are some good hikes to go one that are really pretty and stunning! Fees are average for a developed campground. I would highly recommend this to anyone!
The campspots are roomy, hosts are friendly, and it stays cooler in the summer, but be prepared for rain. Sometimes the vault toilets can be smelly, and you can smell them when the breeze blows the odor through your campground. Restrooms: Mostly clean, but then 1 or 2 of them are smelly. Dog-friendliness: Dog loves all the dogs she meets camping here.
We loved this campground! It was easy to get to. The setting was stunning and there was tons to do. There are atv trails, hiking trails, and a beautiful river to fish. We will be going back!
Nice campground. The people that host it are helpful and nice. They said it gets full most weekends in season, so plan for that. Beware of the site in the 40s has to be accessed through a dip with water.
I really like Willow Flat Campground. It has beautful views adn hte spring that is a short .5 mile walk is like visiting "Glacier National Park." Crystal blue water coming out of the rock! It's awesome We were in Group site 2 which had built in tables and a very large firepit. The bathrooms were awkwardly far away from the group site. We either had to walk right through other peoples camp or walk way around on the road. Also I felt like people would just ride their dirtbikes and 4wheeler right on the road by the campsites, it became very annoying. Other than that it's a spectacular place!
I'm super biased because I've been going there since I was like 7 so I always have a great time whenever I go. Also too much rain my fiance's words not mine Restrooms: Typical campground restroom. Not great by any means but its nice to have in the middle of nowhere
