Wind Cave National Park protects 145 miles of cave passage including unique boxwork formations and 30,000 acres of mixed-grass prairie that support bison, elk, pronghorn, deer, and black-footed ferrets. Cave tours, a campground, scenic drives, and hiking trails are offered.
The purpose of Wind Cave National Park is to protect the unique Wind Cave resources and preserve and enhance the mixed-grass prairie and native wildlife, while providing for the enjoyment of the public.
