Housed in a former chapel built in 1888, the Winter Harbor Public Library contains a collection of almost 8000 books in print and serves both the year-aound and summer communities of this downeast Maine town. The stones of the building are local field and beach stones collected by townspeople to build this chapel. Today, the library is part of the Maine State Library system.
