Hometown Ski Resort with small town feel. close to Denver and accessible with the ski tram from the airport. My favorite ski area in the world because it always has the best powdery snow every season and the food is always great. Easy to expert ski trails for every skill level and great Ski Coaches for the little one to learn to ski while you enjoy a few runs Solo.
Only went for the with an unlimited activity pass. A lot of fun! My three kids ages 3, 7, and 8 all had a blast. Highly recommend for a family outing. Staff was amazing at each activity! The alpine slide was a hit for our family! If your in the area it is a must do.
Having visited this resort most of my life, I can confidently say it is one of Colorado's finest. Catering to an array of skill levels, it makes it an ideal place for beginners like myself when I first learned to ski. The winter park side is a little easier and is for all skill levels, whereas the Mary Jane terrain is more suited for intermediate/advanced skiers. What sets this resort apart from others includes the quality of terrain and snow, the location, outstanding customer service, and simplicity. The free parking lot is convenient as you can ride the gondola to the base. On the Mary Jane side, there a parking lot right at the base, allowing you to basically step out of your car and be on the slopes in minutes. Its, worth noting that with the increasing popularity of skiing, the resort gets quite busy and pricy at peak times. I recommend planning your visit for an off-peak weekday to get the full experience. If you ever find the opportunity to visit, take full advantage, embrace the thrill, and take in the breathtaking scenery around you.
My favorite skiing place in the world. Very accessible from Denver with amazing snow all winter. You wont be bored as WP offers a wide variety of runs from double blacks to greens but by far the best thing is the trees. Mountain wide you’ll find fun and unique trees for all levels. The food really good but only at lunch rock everywhere else is highly underwhelming. As for housing and the village its small but there is a good sushi place and lots of good places to stay slightly outside of the village.
We came here during summer months and bought the all day pass. It was pricey but you do save $10 off per ticket if you purchase 48 hours or more ahead. We were there for about 6 hours and could have stayed longer. Alpine slides, climbing wall, ropes courses just for kids, mini golf, gondola ride. I liked everything except for the mini golf course- the balls constantly rolled off the course and even onto other holes, due to the way that the course was sloped on both sides. Kids and adults alike were frustrated by this. Still, overall a very, very fun place for families. I hope to mountain bike next time we’re in the area, as they have tons of miles of trails. We would definitely buy the passes again if back in the area.
*UPDATE* Winter Park’s travel insurance company, Red Sky, reached back out to me to let me know they’d made a mistake on my claim— after I left a bad review, reported to the BBB for false practices, and emailed them. They let me know that I would receive a refund- it was a simple date entry error on their part. I’m updating the stars on Winter Park to reflect my total experience. I would highly recommend reading the fine print on your travel insurance if purchasing. While my story ended on a positive note, many have not. Read Red Sky’s reviews on Google as well as the BBB before you choose to vacation at Winter Park, as the travel insurance you purchase also applies to any condos/properties owned by them. Skiing is expensive, especially if you live out of town. Do your homework. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I purchased one lift ticket for the 2022-23 season, sustained a back injury and was unable to ski the day I purchased the ticket for. I purchased travel insurance from WP through Red Sky, and ended up making a claim. Although I spoke with an agent several times who assured me I would receive a refund, and had my physician fill out a claim form, Red Sky denied my claim. I hold Winter Park responsible for this poor service from Red Sky. I am a resident of Colorado, and will never ski at this overpriced, irresponsibly managed resort again.
Absolutely my favorite ski resort in Colorado! A little off the beaten path but well worth the adventure. Huge diversity of runs and all the amenities of the fancier resorts without the haughty attitude and absurd price tag.
Incredible ski resort for all skill levels. So fun!! Only complaint is the signage for the trails could be better, so don’t be surprised if you go down a wrong run. Village is small but has everything you need for a low key day or two of skiing
Such a fun ski/snowboard resort. Plenty of terrain for every type of riding preference and amenities to satisfy every type of person. Outhouse is the legendary mogul trail uniquer to Mary Jane peak and was by far my favorite trail, but be warned it is difficult! Panoramic Express provides some breathtaking views you will not easily forget and has some blues to get down which is nice for intermediate-novice riders looking to enjoy the view.
Spent my second time skiing here at the end of the season. Honestly it’s a huge mountain and I only saw the green runs so I imagine you could get lost for a week here. Beautiful scenery and not too far from Denver. A little pricey but what isn’t.
