We walked 2 and a half miles to this place, so it was nice to feel the water they have for the kids to run through and to sit down and watch the boats in the river go by and the water taxi. But I must share that the little building by the mist area and bathrooms sold the best pineapple mango creamy Popsicles. They were so tasty and refreshing. I could have eaten another... They tasted like they were just made.
Great Park! They have lots of fun events throughout the year. Yesterday my wife and I were here for the riverfest and it was a great time. Nice playground for the kids to play at a big open field for whatever your heart desires, the river walk is amazing. And there are some water fountains too that the kids can run through. Little bit of everything!
Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park is an absolute gem in the heart of downtown Tampa. This park is beautifully designed and offers breathtaking views of the Hillsborough River and the Tampa skyline. The park is always clean, well-maintained, and perfect for a relaxing day out with friends and family. There are plenty of activities to enjoy at Curtis Hixon Park. The large green space is perfect for picnics, playing catch or Frisbee, and just lounging in the sun. The playground is great for kids and features modern equipment and a splash pad to cool off on hot summer days. The Riverwalk trail that runs through the park is perfect for a leisurely stroll or bike ride along the river. One of the highlights of the park is the iconic and massive water feature that is a must-see for visitors. The fountain lights up at night, creating a stunning display that is truly a sight to behold. The park also has a concert pavilion that hosts a variety of events and festivals throughout the year, making it a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.
Very very beautiful park. Basically seems to be orientated to skateboards and bicycling and a lot of people that seem to be having fun there. It is also the meeting point for the Tampa Bay critical mass ride which happens every last Friday of the month
Right on the Riverwalk parking garage closest around 50 yards awayto it has easy access and is pretty cheap! Nice view in tampa! Dog-friendliness: We Had our dog with us! Picnic area: Nice area to have a picnic!
Perfect place to take an afternoon walk with your family and friends....I highly recommend it. It's a great place to take pictures as well.
We loved visiting during Bark in the Park! It's a very dog friendly location in a nice area. There's plenty of room to roam around and it has great city views. We'll definitely be back when we visit the city. Restrooms: Plenty of restrooms available.
Went during the winter village. Very pretty. They had a boat parade, ice skating, little shops, food etc. Some things are a little pricey but there is no entry fee. It is also pet friendly but it does get very busy so it does make doing some of the stuff a little hard. Such as ice skating you need reservations but they fill up very fast so I suggest book it early.
We attended the Bark in the Park event put on by the Humane Society at Curtis Hixon Park and had a lovely time. It's a very clean Park right on the water, it has great views of the city and plenty of room to explore. Dog-friendliness: So dog friendly they hosted an event just for dogs at this location.
Curtis Hixon is a great park in Tampa to take in views, participate in local events when they're happening, and accessing the Riverwalk. It's clean, has a relaxed vibe, and is a beautiful part of downtown Tampa
